Hate to break it to y'all but it's probably not a good idea to argue with Dallas on this one.

Not kidding - he's taking about stuff that 95% of us don't understand.

It's no exaggeration to say that not only do the vast majority of people on this board not know basic formations, but don't even know where the ball is on the field until the replay.
Thanks for your support Ian.

Anias was hurt as a leading blocker out of the backfield, typically a fullback.

That's a stupid coach.

Anias was hurt as a wide receiver blocking downfield because an out of control pig flew over the man he was trying to tackle and rolled his leg.

But thanks for being a stupid zoo poster who has no clue how the game of football works.

After Oklahoma's 2000 National Championship Season, Robert Cessna wrote an article about the Oklahoma team that year saying that not a single starter had an injury all season long that kept them from starting, He went on to say the starters did not even have a hang nail.

Call it what you want:

  • Blessing
  • Hard work

  • .... good Karma for those of you in to that

.......Storybook ..... [note, some did have injuries that they played with, including Josh Heupel].

100% S&C. It's not luck, it's a trend.

When your team sucks and there's nothing really to play for, the players decide not to play through the injuries.

It was totally obvious we were in poor shape at app state, cramping up all over the place on the shady side of the field while the 2 star mountaineers in the full Texas sun ran circles around our pitifully out of shape 4- 5 stars. If you are out of shape in football, you're probably going to get hurt.

The answer to every question is that we're playing 19 year old children against 24 year old NFL 80th men.

Here's a theory most would call a conspiracy......covid vaccine!! Yes, all the teams got them, but they probably didn't get the same throughout the SEC as multiple formulas were used. ALL were untested. Many negative overall medical degradations have been validated. What if our ADepartment was purposely supplied with an especially nasty "witches brew". Go ahead and laugh and keep listening to the DS trash. Head in the dirt solves so many issues!

No amount of S&C could prevent the Smith injury, those just happen in football sometimes.

We have had a lot of bad luck with injuries but some of it does have to do with young kids playing against young men. 18 and 19 year olds vs. 22-23 year olds that have been in college S&C programs for 3+ years vs. 6-8 months.

That may explain some of it and the rest I think is just happenstance and bad luck as I doubt we are doing anything different than we were doing 18 months ago under Schmidt.

Regardless the S&C coach is critical, he spends the most time with the players. It may be that the new head of the S&C program is not as detailed oriented and following up with each player and each group on their workouts, metrics, etc.

But, at the end of the day, the Von Miller and Myles Garrett that left A&M we vastly different than the ones that showed up and played as true fish and I think that is mostly it

one reason why 2000 OU and 2012 A&M were so healthy...at least half their games were blowouts.

starters only played 3 quarters each week --- that makes an enormous difference

yes, the App State game blows up the "injury" excuse.

Dallas, Please educate us as to where the abundance of injuries stem from?
This is what makes the Zoo so great. We got doctors on here who don't even need to see their patients to give a diagnosis as to cause. Freakin' brilliant.

i can tell you, LSU had crazy amount of injuries last year. As a S&C guy i can tell you much of it comes from lack of recovery and running the guys into the ground claiming "conditioning"

you have to be effecient in your conditioning and use practice to do it and maybe some true speed work thrown in. then you must do everything you can for recovery and it has to be tracked by the coaching staff...(sleep, nutrition, whoop band, gps, etc)

its been one of the most refreshing things this year at LSU.

Would blame this on strength and conditioning as well as coaching. If coaches put people in a position to get injured bc of thr plays they are running than that is a huge problem as well.

Navy, I find it lovely that you spent some time to find exceptions. It's really cute. Maybe you have a better explanation.

Maybe it wasn't S&C, maybe they had the wrong zodiac signs. I am a former full ride athlete and so is my wife. I can tell you from my own personal experience that when you are in optimal shape, you are injured less.

Max is what happens when you have an offensive line that is full of back ups because the starters were injured. Anias, I don't know why we use him as a between the tackles back. I would have used him something like they use Debo Samuels.

Injuries come with the game, but what we have is a disproportionate number of injured players compared to other teams.

Do you recommend some human sacrifices or burnt offering to stem the bad luck?

Very pleased that you got exposed after this post.

When you are a professional making hundreds of thousands of dollars or millions of dollars (NIL), and you are not on a long-term contract, you will make business decisions about when you play and when you don't play. I don't have any inside information. That's just logic.

Its so refreshing to have the uninformed pass judgement on what being exposed mean.

You're on a "fan" site for Texas A&M Football. Many of the takes that you are going to see are purely from "fans" and not athletes. Therefore, you are going to see opinions that may vary from your own, and many of which are just formed without ever having played a down of football(well maybe they played middle school football).

You may learn something from this whole post. Just because your opinion isn't in the majority, doesn't mean that you aren't correct.

I appreciated that fa t that Dallas took the time to try to dispel my premise. I don't agree with him, but I appreciate the fact that he was so motivated to prove his opinion that I left it alone. I don't have the time nor the need to justify every detail of what I believe.

If you would read and take the time to understand the little things in a discussion, it may help you in life. Things like listing that Foster didn't get mono from the S&C program. I don't personally know where got mono, but I am rather confident that they didn't operate on his knee as a result of mono. You could argue that he was in a weekend state because of the mono, but that would just strengthen the argument that people are hurt more frequently when they are not properly conditioned.

However, if you like to think of me as being exposed, then please do so.

Would it help if we got a Strength coach and a separate conditioning coach?

Perhaps coaching both strength AND conditioning is a bit too taxing in today's game.

We could be pioneers separating the two.
