Not in his play calling. But I'm not going to rule him out based on a mediocre season due to a starting team of predominantly freshman. With that said,, if mediocrity is still the norm next year and the following several years, I may have a change in heart.

His offense sucks bad, but we medically retired like 6 OL in the last 2 years and had most of our OL starters get hurt this year. Then we lost our top WR and had 2 QBs get hurt. Name another offense who succeeded in those circumstances. The majority of the team is freshmen. If we don't see major improvement next year then I'll doubt Jimbo, but the man has had 2 bad seasons in like 20 years, and both seasons had crazy injuries.

Along these lines, I'm waiting to see how 2023 plays out. Ask me in January/February 2024.

Not that it matters what most of us think but to answer your question no I do not have any faith in him. I believe we will dither about for a few more years and then he will be fired.

As much as I am disappointed and also feel like we lost games this year that we could have won based 100% on coaching, I'm still on the wagon. As Greg said it earlier, he had us one game away and so will again. It was an odd year where we had waaay too many freshmen, and waaaay too many vets leave too early for the NFL. We've missed that experience and leadership. And to throw in an OL with a failing grade due to youth, inexperience, horrible coaching. So I can swallow the why (as hard as it is), because I see enough positives pointing to the future that I think will help us take another big step forward.

Is our futility any less egregious than theirs? Slocum, Fran, Sherman, Sumlin and now Fisher. If buyout was not so large, most would support firing Fisher. We'd then be on our sixth head coach in 20 years.

Been following Aggie football for 40 years. Every coach has had their downfall.

Here are Jimbo's problems as I see them:

1. He won't let go of the offense. He needs to be a CEO coach and let an experienced/aggressive OC take over. But Jimbo thinks that he knows best. Ego.

2. He won't/doesn't use the portal. In this day and age, the portal can be a coaches best friend - if you let it.

3. He insists on bringing freshman up through the ranks, which is fine, except for the fact that too many freshman playing significant minutes will add up to losses. Plus, freshman now want immediate playing time and in the era of NIL, if they don't get playing time they will portal out.

4. He should have committed to CW earlier. It's pretty obvious what he brings to the table that King and Johnson can't.


Not Jimbo's fault:

Injuries have decimated this team on both sides of the ball. Is that conditioning-related? Unlikely. But it at least allows the freshman more playing time. Which is both good and bad.


In my opinion, it's not all on Jimbo, but he IS getting paid to solve the problems before they occur, not after the losses pile up.

This! His bungling of game management situations because he's too wrapped up in the play calling is one of the biggest issues.

Done....Fisher needs to move on.

I liked the guy and his approach a year ago. Nothing has changed. His offense isn't flashy but with the right people he can put up big numbers. This offense is almost never going to be a 40+ points per game offense against SEC level competition so the Defense needs to be real.

Aside from Miss St nobody has put up huge numbers against us. Our offense just needs to get us into the game and not dig holes in the first quarter.

Even with all these injuries and inexperienced players, I still think its inexcusable to lose a home game to Appalachian State and a road game at South Carolina, especially in Jimbo Fisher's 5th year. Losses to Mississippi State, Alabama and Ole Miss were understandable, but not to Appalachian State and South Carolina. We should be 5-3 or 6-2 at this point, not 3-5.

This is what I want to see for the rest of the season.

1. Beat Florida at home on 11/5.

2. Beat Auburn on the road on 11/12 to snap a 5-game road losing streak. That would gives us our first road win since a 35-14 rout of Missouri on 10/16/21 and first road win against an SEC West team since a 31-20 win at Auburn on 12/5/20.

3. Bowl eligibility. This would be our 14th consecutive year of bowl eligibility.

4. Beating LSU at home would be an added bonus because we will probably be home underdogs to LSU.

5. A bowl win would mean a 7-6 finish and avoiding our first losing season since a 6-7 finish in 2009.

During the offseason, I would like to see Jimbo Fisher make the following changes.

1. Hire a good offensive coordinator and delegate play-calling to him.

2. Retain most of our freshman recruits.

3. Sign at least a good 2023 class.

4. Hit the transfer portal hard for offensive linemen to bring in more competition preferably that are juniors or seniors.

I don't have confidence in ANYONE that has multiple years of guaranteed income. Where's the incentive? It's not like this is his first gig and his reputation will dictate what job he gets next. In all likelihood this is his retirement gig and he doesn't have the same motivation as he used to have (except at the dinner table apparently).

If Jimbo beats LSU a lot of the awfulness of this season will be forgiven
