The Black Hat Saloon... only had a one year run at the East gate (75-76), but it brought in some great regional music talent on Thursday nights like Rusty Weir, Gary P Nunn, Augie Meyers, Sonny Terry and Brownie Magee, etc. Unfortunately, the major partner ran into money issues, quietly bought a few others out to get a majority share and then sold out the lease to Mama's Pizza.
Nope, my brother who was the managing partner (but a smaller partner) named the bar for the album. He and everyone else was caught by surprise when the lease was sold. I was so bummed with the sale, I never ate at Mama's Pizza.agnatgas said:Wier released an album called Black Hat Saloon. Wonder if it was named for the bar.Quote:
