SEC and ACC games will be shown EXCLUSIVELY on ABC/ESPN. While all B1G games will be only on FOX, CBS, and NBC

Big 10 FOX Noon
Big 10 CBS 2:30c
Big 10 NBC 6:30c

SEC ESPN 11c
SEC ESPN 2:30c
SEC/ACC ABC/ESPN 7c

This will be the new CFB slate.

I really haven't had much interest in the Big 10 and I always was more partial to the south east. so I think I am going to exclusively follow SEC/ACC (in anticipation of your Clemson's of the world joining the SEC eventually).

Will save me lots of time not having to sit through Iowa vs Wisconsin and instead can watch Clemson vs Florida State and Oklahoma vs Georgia.

I see this becoming like Marvel vs DC, where people become fanboys of one or the other.

As much as ESPN has tried to become the center of the sports universe and concentrate all content on its cable channels, it looks like the Big10 deal actually gets its football in front of more eyeballs.

I hated when our games were on crappy fox sports regional affiliates, but if Fox NBC and CBS are going to give the Big10 the same production value as their NFL slate then the SEC on ESPN isn't going to look good by comparison.

This definitely is a great deal. Is the current Big 10 with its 16 teams enough quality content for all of this? Is there more teams like Notre Dane in the fold?

Now I wonder what they SEC can do to increase their power.

Just watch.

You actually think the Big 10 is gonna pull a better deal with Fox NBC CBS?

Just watch.

That's pretty cool that they're going to be the big national focus on 3 networks.

Kudos to them for swinging it, they can definitely market themselves as the national brand they've always wanted to be now.

I'll be honest, I loved having the sec on cbs

Felt like it was a more national broadcast

Just being exclusively on espn networks makes it feel kinda second rate now compared to a league that will be on fox, cbs and nbc

ESPN's production in everything has been garbage for years.

Are they going to use TNT, TBS, USA, etc? ESPN/ABC shows nothing but CFB on Saturdays for 12 hours on like 9 different channels. Do FOX/CBS/NBC have enough channels to show every BIG game, especially during non-conference weeks?

ETA: I know they have enough channels, but will they want to block off 5 or 6 channels every Saturday in the Fall to show every game?

I liked CBS too.

Also think CBS had best HD. Games just looked better than they did on ABC, NBC and ESPN.

Well each of those networks have a Sports Channel (or 2) so they have at least 6 channels.

Is anyone else shocked to see NBC on this list? NBC has only served one customer in college football for as long as I can remember.

It'll be the NFL model with CBS/FOX during the day and the Sunday Night Football game on NBC.

CBS was stealing from the SEC.

ABC is national broadcast as well.

Simple.

ESPN>Fox /NBC/CBS

This should also help the case for a 9 game SEC schedule.

That's guaranteed. B1G will announce a 3-6 model and the SEC will be forced to announce shortly after.

Since when is the SEC forced to do anything? Especially by the midwest?

Is it forced if ESPN says we will give you a couple hundred mill extra if you drop the FCS BS?

I don't understand (or really care) which networks make more money or any of this as long as I can view games somewhere. However, I don't understand what you mean by 'watch'.

To me, this isn't something that incentivizes ESPN to pay the SEC more money. My perception is if all the other networks are tied up with the BIG0, then they won't be in a position to bid for the SEC rights. As a result, ESPN would have less/no competition in negotiating a media contract. That's not a scenario that leads to a higher offer.

You may well have a point and I'm certain this is all more complex than I realize, I just don't see how this is a catalyst for increased revenue for the SEC. If things change (SEC expansion, etc.) then who knows.

I guess we can assume that college gameday will never be going to any schools that arent SEC/ACC now. They have no incentive to bolster up competing brands

CBS, NBC & ABC are essentially free TV for the public (don't need cable, internet....a good HD antenna and those channels are available in every market practically....no matter the size of the town).

I see Fox blocking off the whole day for football (except for october for MLB Playoffs), but usually NBC (with only 1 school i get) only shows 1 game a week and CBS in the past has mostly only shown 1 game a week with a couple 2 game weeks as well. That gives a minimum of 6 games shown a week. During conference play thats 6 out of 8, but weeks when teams are out of conference that's 6 of 16 games a week. They would have to utilize the cable stations to be able to show all of the games or the use of streaming platforms like (Peacock and Paramount network) to show 16 games in a week. Fox could technically show 4 games in a day but it would likely have to be one of the California schools involved in the 4th time slot and if that's the case outside of the Bigs payday what viewership advantage did USC / UCLA gain by moving, they are still slotted in a timeslot when half the country has already gone to bed, not many people on the east coast will stay up to watch UCLA vs Maryland starting at midnight.

production was top notch and the games felt like an event with some prestige being on the one cbs game of the week

HOWEVER, commercials, commercials, and more commercials, so often led to 4 and 5 hour long games. whether watching at the stadium or at home, that is just too long.

The SEC is locked into it's deal until 2034 so yeah, the Big 10 is absolutely going to get a better deal for the time being. They will get more money and will now have 3 OTA networks pushing them. That's huge for staying in the public's consciousness in an era of paid streaming. ESPN is going to keep locking more and more SEC games onto ESPN+ which will make the SEC less visible.

That's not going to happen b/c schools want 7 home games and going to a 9 game SEC schedule actually reduces the amount of inventory ESPN would get from the SEC so they aren't going to want that either.

It's already been mentioned some games will be exclusively on peacock, which is 100% why nbc hopped on this, trying to get more subscribers.

It's also hilarious of how many people on this site talk about cord cutting but now are all in on otas.

People are going to watch the big match ups no matter what, and people will ignore ucla rutgers even if its on fox/nbc.
