They have responsibe upper adminstration that can make sound and concise hiring decisions. A&M has a bunch of good ol' boy, hot shot big $$$$$$$$$$ big frog mouth politicians. This is fooking delusional. In the time since we left for the SEC, we have won less than 8 games once. Baylor has managed to do so 4 times including a 2 win and 1 win season all against competition that is vastly inferior to what we face on an annual basis. Yes, they have made it to the Big 12 title game a couple times, but what the hell does that matter when they have lost every meaningful bowl game they have been to in that timeframe in humiliating fashion?

We are recruiting at a higher level than Baylor and competing at a higher level than Baylor. Anyone who thinks otherwise is wayyyy too butthurt about last night. Despite the fact we have been without our starting QB all year, down three WRs last night, and two starting DBs, if we play Baylor next week we smash them.

I take more pride in being an Aggie than being in the SEC. I could care less what accomplishments Georgia, Bama, and LSU can accomplish.

We shouldn't be even in the same conversation as Baylor. We should do so much better in the majority of sports. Especially in football and basketball. And we are not.

A&M sports is at one of the lowest levels I have ever seen. While beating Alabama makes our season seem successful, we still lost 4 to conference opponents. Do I think football is on the rise? Absolutely and I am looking forward to the upcoming years of our recruits hitting the field.

But can you point to another major sport that is on the rise?

Baseball...below average now, future is murky,new coach may need time to settle in.
Softball...below average now, future is not looking good.
Women's Bball...above average consistently, we'll see how this year goes but not a powerhouse.
Men's Bball...below average, maybe we can rise to average?
Women's soccer...below average, future unknown but likely the same.
Volleyball...average, future more of the same.
Golf, tennis, track..good to very good (but don't follow close enough to comment on future).

I am frustrated, with the resources and facilities our beloved university has to offer, that we cannot turn out more high-level programs. I understand that there are a lot of below-board things, maybe downright illegal, that go on at other schools that may make them successful. I am proud to be an Aggie and like to think that the Aggie Code resonates through the powers that make the decisions. And I would rather keep it that way than do crap that gets us in trouble in exchange for a few victories. '

I will always pull for our teams, make my donations, buy Aggie gear, and I am really pumped for our football future....but our AD and other decision makers need to take a good hard look at each of the other programs. We may not deserve better (BAS), but I would really like to see better.

Tobacco money covers up a lot, especially at a private university.

Well, they had a lady freak play basketball for them, so of course they'd win in women's basketball. And we did win a championship in women's basketball by beating that freak. Their men's championship befuddles me, but they deserve credit. But before you give them too much credit on the gridiron, realize it's a very high likelihood that if Alabama loses to Georgia in the SECCG, and Baylor loses to Ok St in the B12CG, that they'll probably face each other in the Sugar Bowl. Let's see how they fare against Bama. They've been the benefactor of a watered down Big12, with Texas, Tech, & TCU all having problems. They'll get exposed because they can't do anything outside the Big12.

They won 2 other titles, and were in the Regional Finals at least 4 other times without her.

Considering who we've lost to in football this year, I wouldn't dog Baylor's results.

Probably 9-3 with losses to Ole Miss, Bama and Arkansas. The rest of the schedule wasn't exactly crazy hard this year.

I really did think last year was the beginning of our fanbase no longer hiding behind the skirt of our conference affiliation.

Baylor will finish ahead of us in the CFP, AP and Coaches poll. We can try and hang our hat on some hypothetical meeting where we'd be favored, but SEC or not the nation views them as a better team.

Schedules weren't all that different this year. Ags played 3 currently ranked teams (Bama, Ole Miss and Arkansas). Baylor played 3 ranked teams (Okie State, Oklahoma and BYU). Ags played 8 bowl eligible teams. Baylor played 7.

I think we all know a ranked team in one conference isn't always equal to a ranked team in another conference. Do you really think Cinci is in the Top 5 with our schedule? Do you think Louisina Lafayette is ranked if they played in the BIG or SEC?

Per the current sagarin ratings it would be a pick em game at a neutral site. They had a good year and we had a bad year. It happens. Last year would have been much different.

And address the rest of the post. What would you straight up trade with the Baylor program right now?

Agreed regarding Cincy and ULL. But would think that 11-1 Okie State is better than 6-6 Auburn. Or that 10-2 BYU (with wins over most of the PAC) is better than 7-5 Miss St (that lost to Memphis). Or that 10-2 Oklahoma is better than 6-6 South Carolina.

Sure Baylor's schedule is easier (ranked #30) in SOS. But not that much different in years the Ags have no OOC games of note and play Mizzou and South Carolina in the East. A&M's SOS is #21 this year.

2 of those 5 years were Baylor bottoming out with an 1-11 record in 2017 post everyone getting fired and all recruits bailing. In 2020, they had lost Rhule to the NFL and had a weird year with COVID and went 2-7.

2 10 win seasons (potentially 2 11+ win seasons and 2 NY6 bowls) while cycling through 3 coaches and a university scandal that bottomed out the program in the last 5 years isn't that shabby.

On some teams (Georgia and Bama) absolutely. Immense talent didn't stop Miss St from losing to Memphis. Or Auburn from losing to South Carolina and struggling with Georgia St.

Ole Miss and Miss St typically recruit classes in the 20s and 30s.
