Im not in disagreement about us possibly having a different song as the intro. I never really liked power as a song that much. Too different from 808s and heartbreak for me at the time. But it has become a recognized college football intro. At this point the intro and the song used in it are two separate entities and neither are tied to the significance of the other in the general population. You could point to any damn near any song being used as a shame, scandal or disgrace in the family. Like all the negatives associated with rave culture are not relevant to sandstorm being played in stadiums, It's just a recognized part of sporting events. We will rock you has been rocking stadiums for a long time and im sure there was one person out there that didnt think queen belonged on the airwaves the first time that happened.

Im open to having a different song, but there arent many that you couldn't find some core value infringement

Edit to add that your suggestion has a lead singer with alleged domestic abuse associated with his name. I find domestic abuse or violence much more offensive than simple words in a song. I find violence offensive in general, but in the nuanced context of a football game i celebrate it. I even committed acts of violence as a player in high school. One can find the song in its original context abhorrent while in another context exhilarating. And it doesn't make you a bad person. Neither does one taking personal issue with a song being used in association with their school.

I will say that the only people that would find this offensive today are just as radicalized as you seem to be. I mean that with all due respect just seems like you are in the minority on this one but I am open to the possibility of that thought being wrong.
