Howdy from 5280 ft up!!!! Kickoff is in 5 days, so that gives all the Aggies on the gulf coast time to come here and acclimate. Don't want you getting altitude sickness as you climb up to your 500-level seats! This will also provide some time to build up some O2 in your blood so you can yell at Kyle Field-level decibels.

We have a Denver Aggies thread, but that's really long and very local. Feel free to check it out and ask questions, although this will be a better thread to consolidate info and ask questions. Hopefully some of them will join this thread and provide some valuable advice, in addition to whatever I can provide.

Lots of seats are still available and can be had for $55 after fees. Section 530 to 537 is the visitor's side and is facing the mountains. Those are in the $85 to $200 range right now.

Denver has a great metro rail system with many free park and rides and access to downtown and Mile High. But if you want to get closer or tailgate, lots of parking passes are still available for $30.

Per The Association website, here's the itinerary for this weekend:

I'll make edits to this page as more info becomes available, like college tailgates or a Texags tailgate.

I'm 10min from downtown in Olde Town Arvada, so I can't recommend any Mexican food there. But up here we have Lady Nomada which is amazing.

For beers downtown, there are many options you can walk or scoot to from Union Station:
  • Wynkoop Brewing
  • Great Divide Brewing
  • Denver Beer Co / Cerverceria
  • Prost Brewing
  • Woods Boss
A short rail drip, Uber ride or e-bike / scooter ride is River North (RiNO):
  • Blue Moon Flagship Brewery
  • 10 Barrel Brewing
  • 14er Brewing
  • Epic Brewing
  • Mockery Brewing
  • Black Shirt Brewing
  • Ratio Beerworks
  • Number 38 (a fun bar for live music and all local Colorado drinks is)
For breweries near Midnight Yell on Broadway:
  • Baere Brewing (they have amazing frozen beer slushies)
  • TRVU Brewing (heavy metal themed like Brash in Houston)
  • Banded Oak Brewing

Colorado's Best Dispensery here in Arvada. $16 for 10ea 10mg edibles. Munchie Mondays gets you a 3-pack of 30 edibles for $33.

Seriously you can't go wrong with many of them though in Denver.

I was hoping to catch a show at Red Rocks as well. Maybe next time. I'm a music nut so it's a bucket list item.

If you eat Mexican food in Denver, you're not welcome back to Texas.

Best place to grab a coffee and get some work done?

Flying in Friday morning and need to knock out some work before the party starts. Staying at the Magnolia Hotel.

Wash Perk. The coffee shop inside Union station is great too.

Funny enough they have more than just Blue Moon white wheat or whatever their main one is. Their brewery is impressive and they experiment with a lot of other beers, and their food selection is great as well.

I was also surprised, but need to go back for sure.

I don't live in Texas, live in Minnesota where it's horrible. Figured it has to be better than here and worth the try.

+1 for Union Station. Great atmosphere and plenty of plugs, but the WiFi can be a bit flakey. I think the hotel there has free WiFi you just have to enter your email.

I usually just do a few in Arvada, but my friends co-work at various coffee shops closer to downtown. Here's where they usually go:
  • Dairy Block downtown (coffee, food, drinks)
  • Bardo on S. Broadway
  • Unravel Coffee in Virginia Village
  • Novo Coffee (downtown or Cherry Creek)
  • Therizo Coffee (North Park Hill)
  • Stella's Coffee (S. Pearl)
  • Corvus Coffee (S. Broadway or Alameda)

Boulder County just instituted an indoor mask mandate because they are uber-liberal. Everywhere else is up to the business owner. Only places I know of requiring masks are AEG-related live music venues.

It's my favorite music venue ever, but really hit and miss with prices this summer since there's a bunch of re-sale tickets and prices are very inflated. Not much this weekend unless you want to spend at least $100 ea ticket.

Well the Mexican food may be better here than in Minnesota, but that's not saying too much! Mexican food in Denver is poor to average! But I also grew up in San Antonio so I know what good mexican food taste like!

That sucks. I grew up in South Texas, and also lived in San Antonio for 3 years after high school. Prior to Minnesota I lived in Oregon for 6 years, so has been nothing but torture without tex-mex (and bbq). Was hoping thinga may be different there. Thanks for the input.

I feel your pain. Grew up in Victoria then lived in San Antonio for 8 years after graduating. Now I live in Tennessee. I miss Mexican food (Tex Mex) and Texas bbq so much. And breakfast tacos

How's the Uber/Lyft situation there?
Also, are there any easy to get to from downtown (possibly by Uber/Lyft) climbing places? Trying to decide if I should bring my gear and if I should rent a car.
