Can you tell me what the different areas of Denver are and what the vibe is in each?
I just want to make sure I'm going to the right areas for good food, drinks, and vibes.

Oof, good luck. There's a ridiculous number of different areas/regions/neighborhoods here. It doesn't make sense for the city size.

A block off of Pearl St is Lucile's Creole Cafe, awesome authentic cajun food. I believe it is only open through lunch through.

No mandate. Bring a mask to the game JIC but I was at the stadium for the Broncos 3rd preseason game and didn't notice any mask nazis.

Lower Highlands & RiNo (under 40): young hip food, drinks, and vibes.
Lower Downtown & Uptown: need to know where you're going, potentially unsafe, skip.

Downtown Boulder is 40 minutes from the stadium we're playing in, but it's beautiful and you can do a nice hike at the Flatirons Chautauqua or Sanitas. On Pearl Street, you have your choice of walk ins or you can try for a reservation at The Kitchen.
If you can make time, go to Vail Sunday instead of Boulder. There's heavier traffic coming back from the mountains Sunday 1 to 7 so plan extra time if you have to travel in that window. Mountain Standard is the spot in Vail for dinner; Los Amigos for lunch.

Tennyson St (NWish of DT)
Anywhere around Coors Field (Lodo)
South Broadway (Sobo)
Golden if you want to go further out

Dive bars are all over town.

Avoid 16th St Mall
Avoid Colfax

Just checked the weather...so how different does 92 degrees feel at 21% humidity?

And does the buffalo go to neutral site games?

Man I hate to hear this. We are stying at an AirBnb on 17th street near the 16th street mall. Seems A lot of Aggies are staying in this area (Grand Hyatt, Hilton Denver, Weston, etc.)

Plus the Aggie hangout and yell practice is down that way. Is it really that bad? I was hoping to be able to walk most places with the wife and have a good time.

Everything I have heard is that the sun is brutal. As long as you can keep the sun off of you it will be okay. I am planning on wearing a long-sleeved UPF rated shirt, as well as a brimmed hat.

LoDo is fine before midnight; after midnight you can find trouble if you're looking for it just like any downtown. There are definitely more homeless people downtown than in Aggieland. Wife and I go out in LoDo around Union Station, Larimer Street between 14 and 15th, and several areas in Uptown. Steubens is a very cool restaurant in Uptown on 17th, and it's right next to ACE which is also a cool restaurant and ping pong hall; both have great food, drinks, vibe, and people watching. Again, if you're over 40, she'll like Cherry Creek more and if you're under 40 she'll like Lower Highlands more; see prior posts for specifics.

I'm sitting in the shade on my front patio, it's 85 and it feels perfect, almost chilly out of the sun. Low humidity is a thing. Pack a light jacket to wear in the evenings when it cools down. Sun is also a thing here; it's intense so sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat for the game is no joke.

+1 but my risk assessment is skewered from living in Montrose area of Houston for a few years and walking, biking and railing everywhere.

I've spent a lot of time out on Blake Street, Larmier Street, Lower Highlands, Tennyson and RiNo. Love all those areas. Blake and Larmier should be best for a college gameday. Just walk around and find a good spot to enjoy the games.

I always enjoy meals at Bisto Vendome on Larimer Square. A few blocks away but you can easily walk or ride the 16th street mall ride. If you go make sure to get some pomme frites, amazing french fries.

Sam's No. 3 is close and amazing. It's more breakfast but they are open for dinner. You might want to save that for Saturday or Sunday morning.

Ultreia at Union Station has pretty good tapas and drinks, and a nice view of everyone walking around / people watching.

Other places are all different and I don't know them well due to covid closures and businesses changing. Downtown was hit hard with everyone working remote.

Snooze for breakfast. There's one in Union Station, and one on the edge of Cherry Creek; there will be wait lists for both.

The Association says there are 4000+ Ags signed up for its Denver free tailgate!!

Gotta pre-register, though.

Ship Tavern French Onion Soup... class it up a little.

We just had a Snooze open in College Station on University. Is the one in Denver the original? I have seen a few suggest eating there.

Rino area. ideally stay in that area for breweries as i see there is a ton to choose from

• Great Divide - 5oz pours for really cheep and all their beers are amazing, especially if you love stouts.
• Black Shirt Brewing - nice patio and great pizza
• 14er Brewing - classis small brewery and they do creative stuff...and CO = 14ers!

Ratio is close as well and huge, but I haven't been or had much. But walk down that area of Larmier and enjoy the sights and sounds and all the breweries. That area is super popular now and a nice walk.

We are at Sushi Den tonight and it was as good as advertised. We did Omakase and one of the Cod dishes they gave us was one of the best fish I've ever had in my life.

Go for a nice walk (or Uber) past Union Station over I25 to the Lower Highlands for fun and reasonably priced food at Avanti. For a really low cost, healthy, and tasty meal near Union Station, Zo Ma Ma.
