What killed us in the big 12 was the unequal revenue for so long. We fell behind in the arms race of facilities and did not embrace digital technology quickly enough. We were stagnant, and they both hired very good coaches about the same time. I hate it if this happens. But to think that it is the same situation as before is just asinine.

NIL completely changed the playing field. Alabama's potential starting qb is already over $1m in endorsements. Superconferences are absolutely happening now, and we are already in the best one. While I'm not excited to help out tu (or OU for that matter) by allowing them into the SEC, it will not only make the conference stronger but will also infuse even more cash into our athletic department. Plus, it makes it that much more likely that we just end up forming the basis of a new 32 team superconference...

This might actually help our recruiting. Seriously...If this makes the SEC even stronger with even more meaningful rivalries, maybe more kids stay in state to play. Look how many blue chips leave for Big 10 and ACC schools each year. We have awesome facilities, tons of money, a huge alumni base that will soon be larger than the sips, and we are in the fastest growing state in America with nearly 30 million people....so I like our chances for success. I think we are positioned to compete with anyone. This is no longer college football of the past....it's a new world. And some may never want to play t.u. again, but if we do....Kyle Field will be an incredible experience. It's that kind of hated rival that we have been missing in the SEC.

It's almost as if people ignore that we win recruits over other blue bloods in the sec. we recruit nationally already.

You're saying that we don't have exclusive offering to the SEC anymore. Fine. That happened. It's not like you can't recruit to A&M to play football, we did it while we were in the Big 12. You're saying leave the SEC to go play in the Big 10 or ACC against teams that absolutely no one in the region gives a damn about. While OU and Texas are playing in the SEC.

Come to A&M so you can play against Georgia Tech instead of Georgia.

Being the only Texas team in the SEC is a huge advantage in every way imaginable. So let's leave the SEC and give that advantage to the Horns!

I would be all for leaving if there was a better conference to go to. Obviously that isn't the case.

If tu and OU join the conference, our recruiting is going to suffer and our ability to win on the field gets harder. Being the sole team from Texas in the SEC was (and still hoping continues to be) the differentiating factor. OP is correct that we will be selling the same line to recruits as tu, but there is nowhere else to go in order to regain that differentiating factor. If this happens, get ready for BigXII part 2.
