Well then he just told the IRS he earned over $30k and didn't report/ claim those earnings

How can somebody look so smart on the field and win the Heisman yet later proven to be a complete idiot? I guess he got coached up a little. IDK

edit for misspelling.. ya know... after calling somebody an idiot.
At the risk of playing the Captain Obvious role here, how have you just now formulated this question in your head?

Let's face it.....A LOT of high level athletes (especially football and basketball) would be flipping burgers or serving time if they weren't athletically gifted. Hell, look at how many of them STILL end up with that outcome even after having been given opportunities most of us would have died for.

I don't think there are statute of limitations on tax evasion. And BTW ii's criminal. Long list of celebrates and "famous" people who have served jail time. Albeit for more than $30k.

Instinct and ability and having Mike Evans to throw to are unrelated to intelligence.

Look at LeBron James, one of the best basketball players ever, and he cant even read.

Statute of limitations AND this wasn't anyone associated with A&M paying him.

It's wrong, but we're clear.

This guy is a lost cause. So incredibly immature it's a wonder he's not dead or in prison at this point.

Sad.
Dramatic.

You need to tell his own father that.

Not too long ago he said (I am paraphrasing) that he was worried his son wouldn't live to see 24 years old if he continued living the way he did.

"Not too long ago" as in five years ago? Johnny is 28 now.

Not necessarily. Johnny's old man admitted he was into drugs.
Again, his dad's said that in 2016. At the time I am sure he did feel that way, but I do think Johnny is no longer in that place. Still immature? Yup. Still party? Yup. But I don't think he is at rock bottom the way he once was, but I could be wrong.

How could he be so good at football and so terrible as a human being? I really hope we as a university completely alienate Johnny at this point. He's operates far beyond the Aggie honor code and brings discredit to the athletic department and school.
He's a terrible human being because he took some money for signing his name? You're telling me that if you went from an average nobody to an A-list celebrity in less than a year, but couldn't capitalize on it because an organization (who is profiting big time off of you) is preventing it, and someone offered you a relatively small sum to sign some stuff, you wouldn't do it? Give me a break. The self-righteous people are the worst, because deep down, they know they're also hypocrites. Average student Jill Schmo gets offered $10k to pose in a bikini to be published in a magazine..."oh, that's so awesome. Good for her!" Biggest player in college football gets offered $30k to sign some stuff...(same person) "Terrible! How could he be such a disgusting human being?"

I was broke ass poor in college, much like many other students (including athletes), and if someone offered me money to do something that isn't illegal (by law), you bet your ass I'd have done it.

I suspect most of us could find many more examples of him making incredibly poor decisions in his life, not just that he took money in violation of NCAA rules. I'm sure you could come up with some of them yourself.

This thread is not about his addiction. He seems to have come to grips with the decisions he made in the past, got himself right, and is choosing to move on. Yet many of the self-righteous on this board are unable to let it go. He may not be living the life you think he should live, but it's his life.

I think it is stupid to say Johnny couldn't profit off all the money he was making. The big money Johnny got in the NFL came from the exposure of his talents in the NCAA. If he didn't play college ball would he have been drafted in the first round. NO! Would he have been drafted at all? Again NO! That's how he profited. In fact that was the big money in his life. He became a millionaire and if he had three brain cells he would still be set up for life. Instead he is broke and is isolating himself from his greatest resource left the Aggie fan base that he could still profit off of if he wasn't such a worthless POS. That's how you profit from your Name and Likeness. You make a good name and profit when people like you in the NFL or in relationships with your fan base.

It wasn't his bowl win or his 9-4 season, it was the team.

He needs to STFU and do it now. If he cares about A&M at all, why would he be talking about all this? The neanderthal and draconian NCAA would have no problem hitting us with penalties now after an investigation over his comments.

Johnny, please, SHUT THE F*** UP!!!!!!

Still want him to be part of, around, and involved in the program, but he has to keep his mouth shut.

With that logic, why stop at college sports.

People should work for free because of future promo opportunities. Because of the exposure.

He is an addict, addict to fame, attention clout. He will never change. How many times has he done his comeback tour only to fail time and time again. He doesn't want to change, he isn't cut out to be a Normal guy let alone an NFL QB

No, but he was arrested for beating his girlfriend (rupturing her eardrum) and plea dealed his way out by agreeing to counseling.

So, kinda.
