Dickey wins easily.

He was the three time NCAA champion in the 60.

Dickey won three straight NCAA 60 yard dash's. The year after Dickey - Carl Lewis won it with a slightly slower time.

EOT

He has the medals to prove it.

3X NCAA indoor 60 meter champ.

Unprecedented.

Dickey easily. As others mentioned, he was the indoor 60 yard dash champion three consecutive years, a feat only accomplished by him and Nebraska's Charlie Greene. (Another guy did that in the indoor 55 meters and yet another at the indoor 60 meters.)

40 years later...Curtis Dickey is still the most talented A&M RB of all-time.

and maybe the most talented football of all-time...regardless of position

Probably the greatest aggie athlete to date.

Dickey, Toya Jones, EJ Shankle perhaps...Achane and....

Toya Jones for sure in terms of pure speed.

Dickey, Reggie, and Dante Hall are the three that sprang to mind.

Yep. Toya Jones was a track star and would've smoked most, if not all, noted above.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Maybe not Rodney Thomas, but he would not stop running until he reached the track or the horseshoe when he scored. Fastest Aggie for his size, besides Dickey.

Rod Richardson would likely be the 2nd in the 60 behind Dickey

I thought Bethel Johnson was faster than McNeal or Goodson?

Playing second, but just curious if he should at least be on this list.

If I remember right, Dwayne Goins ran some crazy 40 time

Feel free to revisit the same thread posted back in 2018. Will save you some time on the older names.

Before Toya was Tony Jones, mid 80's.

But Achane would win, everyone else is too old to run.

back in the late '70s Mike Mosley was a very fast QB (for a person of non color). Might not win the race, but I would put him in there.

I agree. By the time he's an upperclassman, he will be the fastest Aggie football player ever. We're talking about a guy who could be trying to qualify for the olympics next year.

No disrespect to Curtis Dickey, but athletes are just a different breed these days.

I realize he's not a FB player, but the post said Aggie.

So I'll go with former 60m world record holder Andre Cason.

Good point and good memory from the past. Richardson actually had a faster 60 time than Dickey when Richardson was NCAA champion in 1982. I remember it was either Tom Wilson or Jackie Sherrill used him on kickoffs as the "safety", the thought being if an opponent broke open a return, Richardson would run him down.

Carl Lewis Univ. of Houston 1981 - 6.16
Rod Richardson Texas A&M 1982 - 6.07

What's cool is to see a big RB like Dickey beating Olympic gold medal winner Harvey Glance in that 1979 race and having a better time than multiple Olympic gold winner Carl Lewis.

One of my favorite sports photos, just freaking classic:

As a couple of other old timers mentioned , Mosley could run.

Somebody on TexAgs mentioned many years ago, IIRC, that Mosley had a faster 40 time than Reggie. Mosley was also a track hurdler, correct? He seemed to just have a faster "football" speed.

He would not win the 60 contest, but he was fast on the field.

Injuries in the NFL were tough on him. Hope he is doing well.
