Achane has the 2nd fastest time in 200 this year.
Dickey was never second fastest at anything.

I was at the track meet at Kyle field when Curtis Dickey made that 100M run. At first I thought I had witnessed a WR but the announcer mentioned the wind speed disqualified the WR. It was a gas watching CD break into the open field with the football because it was usually 6 points.cecil77 said:
Wish there was more film of Dickey. He just punished the track. And some of those times were on surfaces that would be very slow for today, and shoes that would be laughed at today. He had a slightly wind aided 100M that would have been a WR at the time.
If there would have been an '80 Olympics, he would have made the team.
May be the fastest football player in history.

Y'all are severely underestimating Achane.
No disrespect to Curtis Dickey, but athletes are just a different breed these days.
I would put Bob Hayes up there.cecil77 said:

Quote:
Hayes is the second Olympic gold medalist to be inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, after Jim Thorpe. He once held the world record for the 70-yard dash (with a time of 6.9 seconds). He also is tied for the world's second fastest time in the 60-yard dash. He was once considered the "world's fastest human" by virtue of his multiple world records in the 60-yard, 100-yard, 220-yard, and Olympic 100-meter dashes. Hayes tied the world record to win the 100 meters, then anchored the U.S. 4x100-meter relay team that broke the world record. Hayes is the only athlete to win both an Olympic gold medal and a Super Bowl ring.

Yep. Toya Jones was a track star and would've smoked most, if not all, noted above.

Bo Jackson was the fastest in a uniform. Just check out the screen pass in the Cotton Bowl. I believe Moseley beat Dickey in the forty and couple of times.Mule said:
There was only one player that looked as fast as Curtis Dickey on the football field and that was Darryl Green from Texas A&I.
I attended that same track meet, too! And yeah, I realize that the wind speed was officially beyond the limit; I recall the acceptable limit at 2 MPH, yet the announcer mentioned that the official wind speed that day was 4 MPH.AzAg80 said:I was at the track meet at Kyle field when Curtis Dickey made that 100M run.
