I've got 0U choking to Florida's practice squad in a close one

I can't stand Florida.

Don't like their coach either.

Don't care if they get their asses kicked.

And don't care about supporting SEC bull**** either.

That said I don't think OU can win, but I'd rather they did.

Zero U. For FL, Trask may have been able to overcome just Pitts quitting, but when the top FOUR pass catchers have quit, that is a huge problem and I don't see how FL will score more than 20 points.

Thanks quitters, I know you don't give a S about the Gator fans or SEC pride, etc., fine, but good job quitting on your teammates, coaches and program.

Think Florida's defense is trashier than OU's. OU wins

I don't see Florida winning this when their star players opted out and their questionable defense.

OU's offense is still a WIP that can be very inconsistent. But if they get a huge lead in the first half (which they have done frequently), it's their game.

OU wins IMO.

Did more players opt out or get covid?

I would agree with you for the guys opting out multiple games.

But one bowl game? I can understand the argument for opting out. Especially since it's not always for selfish reasons. A lot of those kids are on the verge of making huge money for their families back home. There's no way to know their situations, but there are a lot of pretty tough ones out there.

Ultimately, those players are committed to their career, just like every other student at the university.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of taking off several games, or the entire season, especially while on full scholarship.

Take a payment equal to the coaching staff and halve it and divide by 115. Problem solved...

I don't know that I agree with it or that I'm happy about players opting out. I'm just not going to blame a 21/22 year old kid for prioritizing his future the way he deems best. The amount of money at stake for these kids is ridiculous compared to 30 years ago.

If the entire Florida team hadn't essentially opted out of the LSU game, there might be fewer players opting out of this one.

Nobody opted out of the LSU game, Kyle Pitts and some non key players were out because of injury but that's it.

I understand what many are saying and it makes sense. But most of the opt outs are WRs. And yes WRs can get hurt on occasion I would venture to guess they are the lowest percentage as far as a position of having serious injury.

It's a cultural issue. A free college education is just another entitlement to many college football players these days. It's rare to ever hear one say thank you.

Agreed... "quitting", or "screwing over your teammates" would be more accurate ways to say "opt out".
