But honestly it's easier for the winning coach to do that.
Classier would be for the losing coach to compliment the winning kicker or team.

I was afraid that Iowa State scored too soon. That final TD drive was way too easy. The defense played well all day, until they had to protect against a 90 yard drive.

Yeah the winning coach talking to the guy who just missed a FG is most likely done to make him look like a good guy/great coach. I suspect the kicker doesn't really care about anything the opposing coach has to say in a situation like that.

Westwood One. The do NFL football, especially the Monday Night games on the radio. They had the great call of "Black Cat" Giants Cowboys game. The audience for radio games is very limited. As much as I hate them, much of the country can get the LSU broadcast on WWL.
