Nike usually seems to get it pretty good it's places like Wally Mart that put dark red on everything.

To me, it seems they can't get our maroon pants and jersey to match.

For those of us who don't know what color codes are, can I take that information into Home Depot and have them mix me up a gallon of interior wall paint?

Aggie GRAY?

Gray was never mentioned as an Aggie color in my day.

One Southwest Conference band director of the (Adams) era reportedly said "I dread going against the Aggie Band...It takes two weeks to recover from the trauma."

I sometimes wonder if Nike trys to cut a few corners and maybe use just one fabric for hats or shirts for all their teams that are of a maroon/crimson/cardinal color like: us, OU, Bama, USC and Stanford. Specifically not on uniforms but the retail Nike Team Sport merchandise. Probably would be a cost saving measure to just buy one maroon/crimson/cardinal all fabric instead of several individual ones. I have a Nike cap that looks more crimson than maroon.

It was said earlier. Some fabrics don't take the dye the same as others.

Nike is somewhat to blame, but the method of printing/embroidery is too.

Are our numbers and letters on the unis heat transfers (really cheap!), screen prints or tackle-twill?

I would assume tackle-twill so they can make new ones much easier (just sew on new letters and numbers).

Either way, I like the darker color on the helmets better. The pants should match, or they should be closer to matching.

If the dye lots are all mixed the same, the synthetic fabrics will all take the dye the same.

The only time you have a problem with the fabric not taking dyes the same is dependent upon the cotton content of the fabric.

THERE IS NO REASON FOR nike TO SCREW UP AS BAD AS THEY DO...like they have on the above uniforms.

If A&M had any b@lls and stuck to there guns and refused the uniforms for not meeting SPECS this would not continue to happen.

This is how we ended up with maroon in the first place.

The best way to solve this problem would be to eliminate the maroon pants altogether.

I love the maroon pants with the white jerseys I just wish the color was right.

I am not crazy about the ALL maroon uni's, reminds me of high school.

not trying to start sh#$, but we have bigger things to worry about than the color of our uniforms right now.

Don't understand why Miss State never has this problem with their colors. Nike has the contract with both schools. MSU's always looks right and ours always looks mis-matched.

I have been in this type of business since 1988 and I have seen plenty of product returned because it did not meet "SPECS"... It just takes someone to step up to the plate and say "This is not going to cut it..."

Fabric color codes and paint codes are not always the same. The best thing to do to accurately get paint in a certain color is to go to a screen print shop and ask for fabric in a certain color then have Home Depot color match the paint. Remember that flat paint and gloss paint will come out looking differently.
