It's simple. Jimbo gets paid an astronomical salary to beat a #4 SEC team at home in year 3. It was expected. It is expected. Top recruits in place. If we lose Saturday we are back to " the same ole Aggies." and simply Jimbo , in my opinion can go back and coach in the ACC where half the teams are considered cupcakes and hiring him is a bust. Win Saturday , and we are on track to success. Progress in program is proven. Tired of " we are almost there excuses ".

We are on year 22 since our last Conference Championship, and have had 5 coaches in that period.

Looks like we actually need to quit chasing rainbows and unicorns and be more patient, because this is the way its always is done ain't working too well

It also took us 5 coaches in 18 years (1967 to 1985) to win a SWC title

I wouldn't say a "win," but I would say it's a must "play a respectable game" kinda game. If we get blown out again on Saturday then real hard questions need to be asked about both Mond and Jimbo.

Dabo was a younger first time head coach. Jimbo was an established and experienced coach. If you wanted to compare something, shouldn't it be Jimbo and Saban. Saban won a championship with LSU and later built Alabama into a powerhouse. He won a championship in year 3 w/ Alabama. Jimbi's path seems more analogous to Saban's. However, he isn't having the success of Saban. He isn't nearly as good as Saban.

Why the comparison with Dabo at Clemson? I guess it gives you more time before you are disappointed, but it is a silly comparison.

Comparing A&M to LSU or Bama is the silly comparison.
That same Nick Saban went 7-5 and 6-6 in his 3rd and 4th years at Mich St. We'd have wanted to fire him.
And Dabo put up several 10+ win seasons before finally getting over the hump, so a Dabo comparison isn't exactly buying anyone any time for legit success.

1 year to instill the culture and run off anyone from the old regime that doesn't buy in. Then another 5 to have a full set of redshirt seniors plus underclassman that have had no influence from the previous regime.

We are still combating old Sumlin mindset players In year 3 and the two underclassman classes Jimbo has recruited have to overcome that mentality

uh well Clemson's took like 4 and they're in the ACC. We could go 11-2 on average in the ACC in the right division (the one that doesn't host Clemson). Plus that program adjusted to their new coaches demands of perfection in just a couple years while we still have mentally filthy players left over from Sumlin.

What's gone be the excuse after all of Sumlins recruits are gone? Gonna have to find a new one soon. Time is almost up and that dog ain't gone hunt Anymore.
