What a concept. He has an opinion. He can ball. Let the kid throw touchdowns for the school he supposedly hates. Get off the 21 year old
Except he can't 'ball'. He's a mediocre qb with a perennial deer in the headlights look at the line of scrimmage. He opened himself to any any criticism.Electrical_Socket said:

He's able to have HIS Opinion, but he not able to have his OWN Facts!Heuberger said:
May I ask why you're able to have an opinion and he doesn't?
And what makes you think yours is more important then his?
The 21 year old Mond is holding Sully responsible for what he did when he was 22. So that would be a no.Electrical_Socket said:

Yes, but WWBCD?#Mke said:
the liberal agenda pushed by globalist deep state operatives.
Because football players don't give a damn about Aggie traditions, the culture we have here, or the history of the university. They are entitled *****s that think their feelings matter--they don't. These players are only here to play football for hundreds of thousands of fans that enjoy watching their team on Saturdays. If they want to piss of their fans with these stupid little protests and marches, so be it. it's on them.MikeA245 said:
Why do so many of you think you are more of an Aggie than he is? That he can't possibly be right? Sul Ross did some great things in his life and was involved in some not so great things. Instead of trying to disprove everything just listen. He is our starting QB for this university and wants change and wants to be heard. Kellen is just expressing what countless of other former athletes and students have felt over the years. No body on this board has ever started at QB for the Aggies or even been a black student athlete. It's embarrassing to say you want him removed from the team when a majority of the players back what he is saying. Mond chose us and will likely go down as our all-time leading passer. I think he's more than earned the right to have an opinion that others might not agree with. Let's not be the university that can't adapt to change.
We are the Aggies, the Aggies are we
True to each other as Aggies can be.
Quote:
As a high school sophomore, on the first day of padded practice, Warren Central High School assistant coach Tony Burchett called me a ***** in front of the whole team. It changed my life. For the next three years, I tried to annihilate every kid who lined up in front of me. No one would ever call me a ***** again.
Sure, everyone is entitle to their own opinion.Electrical_Socket said:

Kellen has been a model student athlete from day one. Voicing his opinions is a brave thing to do given his platform. While I agree with most of what he eschews, I understand the issue is complicated and potentially divisive.
As Aggies that support our university, sports teams, and the 1st Amendment, please be respectful to discourse that is in opposition to your views and opinions.
Go Ags!

I haven't seen one person on your side be respectful to those they disagree with. and if you don't fit that description please pass it on to other like-minded individuals to listen to both sides.
This isn't a one-way street.

Let me answer the OP's question. No, Mond is not an Aggie in anything other than attendance. He is payed to play football and does that rather poorly. Would I consider him part of the Aggie "Family"? Nope, he has no common bond other than walking around campus. Is he a leader? Quit making jokes. Will he wear the ring? Yes, and it's a pity unless he throws it away. We can only hope. The kid had every opportunity and has blown it by his actions and words. Flame away, call me racist, could not care less.

I lost all respect for him with his racist tweets. He's no Aggie.
And you would've needed my respect to lose it. You sir are no Aggie.
That is a false equivalency and I'm tired of seeing it, Nazi's were not defending their homes, they were the the invading force. The vast majority of Southerners did not own slaves, they didn't sign up to prop up white supremacy or for the preservation of slavery. They fought because they were forced to in many cases and in many others they fought because their homes were being invadedlil_frog8 said:
The reason why it made me uncomfortable is no fault of Sully or what he stood for which is why I for one don't support the removal of the statue but also don't deny the right for Kellen to ask for it. It is the reality that most current southern black Americans equate the confederate flag and all things Confederate with the racist actions of southerners during the civil rights movement and racist organizations like the KKK that prominently displayed it as a banner and not the fight for states rights etc that the original Confederates may have been fighting for. To address your concern as to my uncomfort it would be the same uncomfort that would be felt if the plaque read that he was a Nazi general that had done the exact same other good for the university.
Pounding the pavement? lol. Mond has done a lot of labeling of those who do not share his opinion (rather, don't share the opinion he has been fed by those who are pushing his agenda). Some of it using his smartphone.MuckRaker96 said:
I think I'm starting to prefer Kellen Mond to an alarmingly large number of adults on TexAgs. If you have a problem what he or anyone else is doing, are you doing something about it or just griping from your ivory Internet tower?
He might be misguided, he might not, but he's out there speaking his mind, pounding the pavement, and trying to orchestrate a change he believes in. What are you doing besides labeling everyone who doesn't share your opinion as a liberal/Marxists/tradition-destroying enemy of the state?
Having A&M's students have different views of the world does't make them the enemy. They're the ones going to school there, on the campus right now. When you were on campus, whose opinion mattered more to you - your own or someone who had gone there 20 years ago? Did you feel you needed to change your behavior based on people donating money to the school?
How does the way you're reacting to him make you any better of a person?
There are some things bigger than Texas A&M. Maybe get off your smartphone for 48 hours and think about them.

We certainly seem to be considered by them as an enemy because we hold a different view.MuckRaker96 said:
