You can't pound your chest over the toughest division in football, then act like you want the conference to lose ooc games.
Exactly. Being the tallest midget in a crap league doesn't work too well under the CFP system. It did under the BCS, though and the "easiest path to the championship game."
Explains why the Sooners are 0-4 in play-off games, too.
I wish we were 0 and ANYTHING in playoff games.
Really? I wouldn't.
Then again I have a different perspective since I've watched the SEC for 23 years, thanks to The Hubs. The SEC games were nearly always better games than most in the Big XII, particularly in the later years of the Big XII when Osborne left Nebraska and Neuheisel was fired from Colorado, and the era of the Purple Wizard was begun.
I well remember the sentiments about RC and Fran's bowl game records after good seasons, when competitiveness against the higher cream of the crop of other conferences were the opponents.
Steel sharpens steel. We won the Big XII in 1998. Think we would have stood a chance in hell against either Tennessee or Florida State? (We had already lost to Florida State that year.)
I will grant that game day coaching can make the difference when a Boise State defeats an Oklahoma or an Appy State beats a Michigan or Troy defeats LSU. But my point is that it is the grind of every week, not the one off that makes the caliber of a national championship level team.
I'd rather have the Ags to have proved their mettle by earning the spot...the hard way and be ready instead of backing into it and not be ready.
My .02. No offense intended, sweetie.
