They are the defending national champions and didn't lose a single game this season but were not the 1 or even the 2 seed. Why?
If Ohio State held onto the 1 seed, they'd be in title game vs LSU-Clemson winner, but instead LSU got to play back to back games in Atlanta and now gets a home game for the natty for the FOURTH TIME! Seriously, how the hell does LSU keep getting to play for the title in New Orleans!?
But to my point, the SEC's reputation helps with seeding and getting multiple teams in the playoff. I think it also helps with media attention and postseason awards, NFL draft, which help recruiting.
