Baylor is not going to be a threat like they were under Briles' days and I would love to see them make life miserable for the big 12 by helping knock important, money football programs out of the playoff and other big bowl games like tu and OU.
Assuming Rhule stays . . . and that's a big assumption even with 9 years left on his contract . . . they are set up to be a bigger threat than they were under Briles. They actually play defense and have a ball control offense rather than the gimmicky stuff Briles ran. I'm not even sure Baylor has issued 85 scholarships yet. Rhule is barely getting started.

I agree that Rhule has done an outstanding job but this feels premature. You may want to wait for them to beat OU or Texas at least once before pushing your chips all in.

They're decent and would likely give the Ags a tough game. They have a lot to be excited about given their last few seasons. But they haven't played anyone solid and see things through green and gold glasses.

baylor didnt play much defense in Rhule's first 2 years. Let's check their defensive stats after ou and tu. They are 25th in defensive effeciency. I expect them to finish in the 30s.

Also, they start 7 Srs and 3 Jrs. They were starting 9 SRs, but their leading tackler is injured. Their pass rusher is a true junior. If he returns, they have a chance.

We are the only school that cares about who we play while others look at wins and losses. And we always berate teams that show success when we couldn't back when. We even had a Heisman winner and still finished in the middle of the pact.

Good point. Let's drop to FCS and win every game.

That is one stupid argument there. I'm sure we'd have every game on tv and 100k in the stands if we played FCS schools every week instead of being in the SEC. You don't become the highest revenue athletic department by playing Baylor's schedule, even with 2 games people care about (ou, tu)

Play your Sagarin game in a few weeks. We'd beat the snot bu.
Would we? Baylor has looked a hell of a lot better than we have. Iowa State, Okie Light, Kansas State, and Texas Tech are all better wins that we have. ****, SMU's wins over Temple and TCU are better than any of our wins too.

ESPN currently estimates that:

Baylor will go 10.4 - 2.3 with a 15% chance of winning the Big 12. Remaining strength of schedule - 37

Texas A&M will go 6.8 - 5.2 with a 0% chance of winning the SEC. Remaining strength of schedule - 29

SMU will go 10.3 - 2.1 with a 15% chance of winning the ACC. Remaining strength of schedule - 63

Cool quote. Let me know when I can expect Alabama and Ohio State to fall. I'm sick of their mafias.

Yes WE would. However you sips will have a tough time with all those teams you named.

Big XII may be a lesser conference but Baylor or UT will likely end up in the Sugar Bowl. The other team will be in the Alamo Bowl. SMU might make the Cotton Bowl.

Projections for A&M are Liberty Bowl vs Iowa State, Texas Bowl vs Oklahoma State, Belk Bowl vs Va Tech or Gator Bowl vs Michigan State. So basically 7-5 opponents as always.

Pretty sure we won't have 100,000 in the stand anytime soon. No way the final 3 games this year are full

Next years SEC home games are Ole Miss, Vandy, and LSU to end the season

pretty sure A&M would rather be undefeated in the Big 12, than 4-3 in the SEC right now.

Most BDF fans refuse to acknowledge the superiority of the SEC. The computer rankings are wrong, the NFL is stupid for drafting so many SEC players, etc..."SEC Bias" is what they call it.

They are wrong, but good luck convincing them.

Best advice on this thread.

Nah. Every year OU goes through this thing where they think they're worth a damn because they have a good record and then they play a team with a pulse and get slapped back into reality. Even Army shoved them around last year. But hey! At least they made the playoffs! Lmao

It's even more hilarious that Big XII fans are trying to pump Kansas up as some big power because OU and tu struggled with them. How desperate do you guys have to get?!

I wouldn't. One year wouldn't be worth being stuck there for more years to come.

Would Texas rather be undefeated in the AAC (SMU) instead of 5-2 in the Big 12?

100 year decision and the . I accept that some years we will have an (SEC) average team and go 7-5 against a very difficult schedule. The BDF can go pound it, even if baylor somehow makes a new year's day bowl.

I asked a die hard baylor alumn (BiL) if he was excited about their season.... he gave the refs more credit than the coach and didnt expect it to hold up.

Does anyone here honestly think that SMU and Baylor would not have the same record as us if they played our schedule? I could argue that they stand a very good chance of losing to Ole Miss on the road. They certainly would not have beaten Clemson, Bama, or Auburn. The rankings are a complete joke.

Living in Dallas one tends to run into Baylor and SMU alums from time to time and they seem to be riding high even though Baylor has not played anyone and needed game winning drives to beat Tech and and Iowa State. SMU barely beat Tulsa for heavens sake.

Before anyone links the Old Rivalries board to this thread, Aggie FB related because we could play those idiots in a bowl game and we compete for recruits with them.

We won't end up in the Gator since we were just there last year. Liberty, Music City, and Texas are the most likely bowl destinations unless we win out and grab the Outback.
