Why is everyone all wound up.....he's just speaking the truth or the perceived truth. It's perceived among outsiders, we are the laughing stock of P-5 football.....we can't win the big games. Win some games and start whippin some peoples asses and that changes.

its not that i give a crap about what other people think. its that we seem to always fall back on the traditions and the midnight yell, and the brand new stadium and the facilities. why cant we just ****ing win. winning is more important to me than being well rounded

You know when us guys that are a bit older keep saying it isn't as loud or intimidating, maybe people will begin to understand????

Graduating in 1996 I can say without question it isn't as loud. Not even close really. Not a bad environment just not what it once was or what it could be.

And I love how it will be built up before we play best team in country as if after a loss people will say "see!".

My personal opinion is that the student section, which was what always made it what it was and is, knows a lot less about football than it once did. Toss in the far more pussified, suburban student body and you get sheet like "ridiculous" traditions, leaving early, and entitled fans.

And threads that smell like tuna.

They are partially right. Measured by wins over ranked teams, Kyle Field is not the most intimidating venue. However, they're also wrong in joking that we'd have to go back to Jackie to see the last big win at home. Here's a list of wins over ranked teams at Kyle Field in the last 20 years.
