Nobody mentioned it in the game thread? I suppose it will be broken down in the McGee film room, but on the pick Ausbon was the underneath route. The safety went with Rogers leaving Ausbon wide open. That was just a bad read and bad choice.

It's hard to argue with the numbers and accuracy tonight though. Mond had a solid game. It wasn't really a pressure game though.

With that kind of inconsistency u can't win games against decent competition.

He may be the guy now. Okay. But that's not cause he's good. Its cause we have no one else. Sumlin left that cupboard bare ass naked. He is what he is. Average or a little less in a league playing against elite defenses. He delivers the ball late to receivers and consistently throws too high or behind receives in situations where he is not forced to, making many routine catches difficult.

He is what he is amd until Calzada or another QB is ready to step up he is the best option okay. But don't sprinkle chocolate on a turd and call it a brownie.

Lamar. 71%. I don't think that will be the case with most of the SEC teams we face. And then Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, and LSU are a bit stiffer competition.

No one is hating anyone...we just want a winner. Mond has his moments and he is a solid QB but just not consistent enough. There is too many wtf moments at his stage of development.

If you liked last years Ms state and Auburn game results, go on pump sunshine up our collective as$...

It is my thinking that mediocre QB never really improves...they just stay mediocre( maybe, they improve some but not enough to go from lousy to play-off contending QB)

We just need to find our equivalent Tua, Lawrence, Fromm, etc...

I don't think it has as much to do with performance, but we need leaders on that team to take charge. I can't say they have to do it like Manziel below or Stephen McGee or Bucky Richardson's style. Typically it is a quarterback though.

Prove me wrong next weekend and I'll reconsider my doubts.

Mond is definitely a rhythm QB, but sometimes struggles to find that game-flow and will look rough because of it.

If our receivers had hauled in a couple of those surefire TDs I think everyone would be feeling more comfortable going up against Auburn. As it stands I think Kellen is going to be up for a big game at home against a top-10 squad.

That's not ideal at all. Ideal is he sticks around and continues to improve and leads A&M to a title next year. Calzada will most likely not be ready by next year to beat bama and lsu in back to back weeks. He's nowhere close to Mond at this point (nor should he be) and id much rather have a 4 year qb starter in 2020 assuming he continues to improve than a first year starter.

Mond is not leading us to a title. Mond is who he is at this point, a very inconsistent QB. Mond is not ready to beat lsu and Bama back to back either. To say Calzada is nowhere close to Mond is nonsense. You haven't seen him play enough to determine that.

Pretty clear from last night that Mond is the best we've got right now. But you have to admit that even Jimbo looked exasperated with him at times

Actually, I don't blame Mond or Calzada. I blame Jimbo for not having a better option at this point.

I would actually like the record to show that I didn't say a single thing about Mond during the game.

Mond has made me apathetic towards this team. So we have that going for us, which is nice.

I'm not saying Mond is perfect. He is what he is. Jimbo's offense last year relied on a heavy run game and TE game to compensate. This year, we now have two of our top 3 RB's injured, as well as our best TE, and what looks like significant problems on oline.

He is going to need our WR to play better than they did all of last season outside Clemson and LSU.

He had a good game last night though.

he is a decent QB and can be exceptional at home.. he has not been able to help this team win on the road. WRs and QB Play is playing under expectations while other positions are playing at or above expectations

CEvans-wow! You do get a bit emotional over a fairly mundane post. I wasn't evil or unfair in my views of Mond. It's simply a point of view. If you look at all of the starting SEC quarterbacks he would fall squarely in the middle third in terms of quality and potential. That's not bad but it isn't what the Aggies need to win the SEC.

Maybe we can discuss what we see without having to write everyone off by saying "trust Jimbo" as if we have no ability to process info and come up with our own point of view.

It was Lamar high school for Pete's sake.
