Criticism of the backup QB, very nice getting out ahead of the curve on that one.PatAg said:
Ideal world, he plays well enough to go to the NFL after this season ends.
and Calzada learns when to throw the fastball and when to throw with some touch

The fact that you included UCLA with the others on your list makes me think you are not keeping up with current events.ABATTBQ11 said:Champ Bailey said:cords12 said:
Exactly! He claimed to be the best QB in the SEC and he's not even close. He actually had 2 interceptions tonight against Lamar, one the dB just couldn't hold on. Mond is good for 2 turnovers per game
He actually had 3 more TD's that his receivers dropped then.
5 TD's and 2 ints for over 350 yards and 81% accuracy, a hell of a night.
Against Lamar. Call us back when he had that kind of patronage against LSU, Bama, Auburn, UCLA, etc...

I don't think we're going to win a title with Mond. Hopefully Calzada becomes the guy we need.Bunk Moreland said:PatAg said:

That's not ideal at all. Ideal is he sticks around and continues to improve and leads A&M to a title next year. Calzada will most likely not be ready by next year to beat bama and lsu in back to back weeks. He's nowhere close to Mond at this point (nor should he be) and id much rather have a 4 year qb starter in 2020 assuming he continues to improve than a first year starter.

This may actually be a very important game for Mond. You can almost forgive him for his performance at Clemson, but if he comes out at home in the first biggest game of the year and starts sucking it up then Jimbo has to start thinking about pulling him and getting Calzada ready for next year's run. We have an opportunity next year to be really good and if Mond has hit his ceiling then Jimbo has to make a tough decision.

Mond and Johnny started the same number of games for A&M at this point in Mond's tenure here. Just for comparison lets look at those stats. I will also add in Nick Starkels collegiate stats most of which came as a starter for A&M.
Completion %, Total Yards, TDs, Int, QB Rating
Johnny Manziel 68.9 7820 63 22 164.1
Kellen Mond 56.6 5229 37 18 127.7
Nick Starkel 61.5 2516 19 7 150.9

TD to Int ratio is a glaring weakness for Mond. 2:1 vs 3:1 for JM and NS.
I didn't post it but his yards/attempt are also significantly less than the other two which compounds the aforementioned stat.

2/3rds of Johnny seems about right.

The Mond criticism here is borderline absurd. I hate when staph censors anything but I wouldn't lose sleep if they started cleaning up some of the garbage that is getting posted.

So you prefer socialism? Free people can't speak their mind? Are you triggered Snowflake? Does it bother you people, who know football, see our QB1 as a detriment in big situations?
Mond 37 passing and 12 rushing touchdowns. (49)Champ Bailey said:Romello said:

Cevans doesn't mind you have an opinion as long as it agrees with his. I sure hope I referred to him using the right pronoun.Dgrimesag92 said:cevans_40 said:

Lol. I said I hate when staff sensors anything. And you calling morons on here "people who know football" is precious. As if our head coach, who has won a national title by the way, doesn't know who our best option at QB is.

I also have concerns about Mond, but the stats posted badly ignore context.
1. JFF got a redshirt year
2. JFF played behind an NFL OLine, including a pro bowl OT
3. JFF had an All-pro WR
4. JFF played junk OOC
5. JFF was in a no-huddle offense and got to run more plays
Yes, JFF is the best. JFF would not have put up the same numbers if he started as a true fish in 2017.

Remember When
Sherman won three NFL divisional titles. Also, he coached four different NFL teams. The sweet memories of being told I didnt know **** about football and Sherman was baby jebuz of football.
How did that turn out?
I dont have to live the life of a coach to know the difference between competent quarterback play and a **** show.

LSU has no nfl line, no nfl receivers, first year in a new offense and still plays better than Mond. Put that in context and smoke it.
