It was a meaningless bowl played 12-15 hours from where most of us live. I'm surprised there were that many.
Most of us have better uses for the $300+ per person it would've cost to go out there.

I commented on all the empty seats last night. Why were we not playing in the game LSU played in today? We finished second in the West?

Because like it or not .. LSU is a better draw than we are to the casual college football fan.
And they travel better than we do
Definitely not good...but NC State is just up the road, and combined, we only get 38k to the game. We didn't travel good for Belk Bowl last year, either.
Meaningless bowl? Wrong! Give us a rest and enjoy the W, for crying out loud.
Jacksonville and Tampa are just bad destinations considering how far most of us would have to travel (look at the crowd size for the Outback Bowl). Orlando would likely see a much better crowd since there is a larger draw for families with other activities in the area.

Right but we have been lobbying for a Florida bowl since we joined the SEC.
We finally get one and have a lackluster crowd.

For a bowl game like this to have a good crowd, the local community has to be more supportive, period.
Kinda like why I wanted the Texas Bowl instead; in our backyard and we would have sold more tickets...location, location, location.

The game had very little draw for me. I can name 15 other teams I'd have rather played in the top 25. I like NC State, but it was not a good bowl draw this year.

This is a dumb excuse. Do you watch our games to see the Aggies or our opponents?
Since the Texas Bowl is in our backyard, the Gator Bowl was better from an exposure standpoint. Nothing else was that great about it, but Jimbo getting to go back to Florida with his new team...and win big...could help recruiting in Florida.monarch said:

I bet we lobby each year for out of state bowl games.
Maybe next year we can go to a bowl in Cedar Rapids.
If tickets weren't an arm and a leg, they'd get a better draw. This year, if they had cut ticket prices by 50% and possibly sold out, they would have turned the same revenue. The concessions would have been substantially better, though. The city would have done much better with hotel and restaurant taxes.
If the reported number was 38k, the real attendance was probably 20k

How many suites did they sell? Also those seats you saw where all club seats in the middle and they where not cheap

I fly for free so it did not cost but to sleep eat and watch the game
Did we win? Yes. Nothing else matters.
It was a great time / trip. Not sure why Ags wouldn't go for fun and support the team. Bad showing, but for those of us that showed we had a good time in the area and especially the game. Next year step up Ags
