Did Jimbo say he didn't want the kid playing for ATM? Or did Leon step away from the team because Jimbo is the coach and Leon is holding a grudge because Jimbo didn't offer him at FSU (for any number of reasons)?

The kid decomitted. His offer wasn't pulled. And you think if Jimbo doesn't go chase him down and beg him to re-commit he's "an idiot"? And anyone who's will to move on to the next kid in line is somehow less informed or less intelligent than you?

You aren't anyone. Fisher hasn't even gotten to talk to Leon. You act as if he has passed him over. Just shhhhh.
I don't claim to be anyone though. I'm just some random kid who knows football and wants to have a discussion about it. I'd be happy to have a discussion specifically about the Bossier safety vs Leon O'Neal.

Luckily though, he's still open to A&M. Hopefully he chooses us again.
ifnthere is anything you ever need to learn about recruiting. A kid from Louisiana who plaus defense probably has a different attitude than one from Texas when it comes to administering a tackle.

Actually, you are talking about your opinion about a player that you believe is better than some other player.

And that isn't the argument, not the one I am making. All I have said all night is that Jimbo's opinion matters and yours (or Saban's or Swinney's or Meyer's) doesn't when it comes to whether or not we pursue this kid.

Deal with it. Your opinion is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT in this case.
I haven't claimed that my opinion is relevant. I have no idea why y'all keep going back to that. This is a stupid message board discussion - it doesn't matter. That being said, yours isn't any more relevant.

I agree that their opinion doesn't matter as to whether or not we pursue Leon. You are correct. What I'm saying is that I agree with the analysis that he's worthy and that we SHOULD pursue him.

That's definitely fair. Guys from the south play mean football and it's always good to get some on or roster. I'd like to have both in a perfect world, but I'd prefer Leon if we can only get one.

Thankfully, we don't need to care who you want. I am going to say it again. I will be happy with whomever Jimbo recruits. And I am pretty sure that Jimbo doesn't care who you want either.

HTH.
I don't care what Jimbo wants. He's an idiot if he'd take the Bossier safety over Leon O'Neal (unless it's a package deal to get Terrace Marshall as well). Jimbo isn't infallible and it's amazing how much blind faith some of y'all are already putting into him.

HTH.

Blind faith? Guy averaged 10 wins a year and won a National Title. Thats not "blind faith", son.

And I certainly put more faith in his opinion about who would be a better player for his team than I do in your angsty opinion about some dude you obviously get a chubby over.

God, you're a mouthy kid.
You used to be cool. Did our latest season cause your BAS to flare?

There are many people who agree with me. Look at the offers and the rankings. Jimbo Fisher is a damn good coach, but he certainly isn't infallible.

It's really just your argumentative and know-it-all posting that rubs people the wrong way. For a 15 year old kid to call a national championship winning head coach, who has been coaching football and evaluating talent longer than you've even been on this earth, "an idiot" just reeks of teenage superiority. And then you double down and accuse people of blind faith because they trust Jimbo's judgement of the situation. You don't win friends that way.

You're a smart and passionate kid. But whatever good points you bring up are quickly forgotten because you think you know better than everyone else. Experience is a hell of a teacher; some of us (like Jimbo) have a lot of it. Maybe be willing to be wrong and not so definitive (like guarantees).

And one more thing: Life isn't a debate tournament. You can have all the right answers, and still be all wrong for the job.
I just now got to this. This is full of a lot of good advice - I wish I would've seen it before the thread completely fell apart.

The reason why I was talking that way was because of the sheer amount of evidence that I feel backs me up (the other three NC winning coaches offering him, better stats, higher ranking, etc). I admit that the way I talk isn't the best way to make friends. It's something that I know that I need to work on. I'd love to learn how to say what I think based off of facts and stuff without turning it into an argument. How does one do this without coming off as arrogant/ a know-it-all? Another issue is that I feel the need to defend myself whenever someone takes a shot at me rather than rather than just being able to let it go. I end up feeding it instead.

I've even admitted that this isn't important in the grand scheme of things. I wish that I was able to let things go. I'll definitely think about everything you said. Thanks and Gig'em.

I never said my opinion is relevant, and I don't think it is. Why do you keep bringing that up?

Dabo Swinney, Nick Saban, and Urban Meyer think that Leon is good enough. Why don't you trust them? Fisher's credentials aren't better that of Swinney's or Saban's (although it will end up being the only one that matters, as you've said).

I never claimed to have an idea of what Jimbo thinks either. Based off of the lack of an offer and what others here have said, I'm arguing under the assumption that he doesn't want O'Neal. This might not even be the case - who knows.

You are getting schooled, son. That is the downfall of youth. You don't realize that you have been beaten, and beaten badly.
But I'm not. I've discredited literally every arguement brought against me. I directly demolished your main points against my view point.

Lol. Congrats. You think you've won some argument and managed to get everyone in the room to hate you at the same time. And you think it's because you "demolished" someone's main points. Smh.

They hate me because I speak bluntly about what I see, and because I as a high schooler apparently shouldn't disagree with adults. My points themselves are quite valid, and they'd be better received if posted by a well liked poster.

My last post in this now terrible thread:

That's not why they hate you. Here's a life lesson I hope you'll file away somewhere: Not every hill is worth dying on. You need to decide if perusing an arguement or "winning a discussion" is worth the collateral damage you cause along with it. Otherwise, you may find yourself on the outside looking in more often than you'd like.
Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely try to keep that in mind.

Maybe he thinks this guy - Israel Mukuamu - is coming with Jimbo since he decommitted from FSU a couple of days ago (11/29).
I don't really want that guy though. We shouldn't be trading elite recruits for average three stars. We need to do better than that if we want to be elite.

Pick up the book "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. It's been in print since the 30's and should be essential reading for anyone in business. It will teach you everything you just mentioned and then some. Better yet, get the audiobook. Listen to it at least once a year. I'm 40 and still do. Thank me when you get your degree and start your career.

Gig 'em.

I'll have to go to the Library or pick it up on Amazon. In fact, I think my Dad has the audio book. I'll have to ask him about it. It sounds like a really good read. That sort of thing will be really important in my life as I want to be a coach, and hopefully on a major scale.

Thanks for helping me out. Have a good rest of your night and gig'em.

I really have to learn to let chit go. I'm getting upset reading some of the attacative comments that I didn't get a chance to reply to, but I won't let myself respond anymore on this thread unless someone wants to just talk football. In the grand scheme of things, this stuff doesn't matter and I shouldn't let myself get mad over it.

I've said everything that I need to say. I've made all the points that I needed to make. It just wouldn't be smart for me to ignite or continue any arguement with a poster on this thread.

Israel Mukuamu is rated as the 500th best player and the 38th best player per composite in the class of 2018. He has 20 offers, his best being Clemson, Georgia, and Florida State. He was also invited to the Army All-America game. He's a bit of a sleeper, as he'll be one of the lowest rated players there.

Israel plays at Parkway High School in Bossier City, Louisiana. They win a lot of football games as they play fast and physical football. They produce a lot of good players, and it would be great to have a pipeline there. He is teammates with five star 2018 wide receiver Terrace Marshall, who considers A&M to be one of his favorites.

He has great a great frame being 6'5", but is a bit under-sized weight wise as he is just under 190 pounds, but I'm confident that a good strength and conditioning coordinator would get him to a good weight. He also has long arms, which is good for a player in the secondary. His length (both height wise and arms) are a big reason why some people are so high on him.

His 20 yard shuttle (4.34 seconds) and vertical jump (33.4 inches) are pretty good, but neither of those stats are elite. I'm unable to find is 40 time. Based off of his film though, he seems to be fast enough. He definitely doesn't have elite speed though.

Israel has played both safety and corner, meaning that he is versatile in the secondary and could be put wherever he's most needed. He currently plays basketball as well, but will play football in college. That being said, most teams are recruiting him to play safety.

He has pretty good field vision and sees where the ball is. His style of play is fairly physical, but not physical enough for SEC ball. He doesn't always have his body in place though to make a play. That's one of my knocks on him. Another issue is that he takes his fair share of risks, meaning that he creates busts in coverage more often than I'd like to see.

Israel is definitely a solid prospect with great length and potential. That being said, his stats aren't elite, and his not being physical enough really hurts.
