This kid just doesn't know how to put air under the ball. Punt team fails to pin them deep. Losing in all three fazes of the game.

I get that there is some questionable coaching, but our players need to wake up! Missed assignments, unforced turnovers, watching balls roll into the end zone. That's not coaching.
Once the ball touches a punting team's player, the recieving team can pick it up without risk of turnover as they always have the option to take the ball where the ball was 1st touched by the punting team. In that case, the guy was smart in trying to pick it up and run with it as it may have saved them from having the ball on the 1" line. That being said, it looks like they ruled it a touch back so it would have been a dumb play.
