You can't seriously not think this is damaging... It will affect the team negatively, affect recruiting negatively, and affect our likely future head coach search negatively.
Give me a break.. The VAST majority of the players AND recruits wouldn't know a regent from a reagent ..you don't take chemistry in organic basket weaving...

They don't need to know what his duties are to know that a member of the Board of Regents is a significant figure... This also wouldn't be making the news it is if he wasn't important.

SIAP, but Greg McElroy and Marcus Spears talked about this on their new show and basically said how this was a bad look for the school/program and that if they were on the board of regents they would vote Buzbee off before canning Sumlin.

I agree with them, whether you want Sumlin gone or not (I like most want a new head football coach) this could be damaging and is classless.

Really? Explain the damaging part to me please.
Houston attorney probably knows damaging vs non-damaging. Just a guess

Bosses fire employees all the time. He simply said how he'd vote. That's not " damaging". Maybe not the "look" we want but neither was Sunday in the field. I'll take the calling out over that ***t play calling/coaching all day long.
You can't seriously not think this is damaging... It will affect the team negatively, affect recruiting negatively, and affect our likely future head coach search negatively. I remember many posters upset with Woodward after his comments he made about Sumlin, and those comments gained a lot of attention. This instance was much bigger and will likely gain more attention. And I think in this case I would trust the opinions' of two former collegiate football players and current college football analysts over a lawyer's. Just a guess.

Bosses do fire employees all the time. However there are very few jobs/job markets that garner the attention after a firing like the head football coach of a major college football team. He did much more than simply say how he'd vote. It is "damaging".

Nah. Stick with calculus.

Firing Sherman while he's on a recruiting visit. That's damaging. Classless and embarrassing. Future coaches see that. Pretty sure that was someone in charge that did that. Right?

Giving half the teams we play career high stats and biggest comeback wins in history. That is damaging. Damaging to recruiting. Negative recruiting. Who wants to play for that team? Lol.

A bor calling out a crappy coach for not doing his job is nothing. It's sad our ad is a big vag and wont do his job.

You're worried about the opinion of two azz clowns on tv. The rest of Aggieland is worried about the ***t show about to be handed to us the rest of the season.

Let it go. The bor is right. You're in the minority. Move on

However...yall are acting like he said something controversial or uncalled for. Virtually 10000% of sports commentators ( player DO know what they are) , self proclaimed gurus, armchair QB's, fans with IQ's over 6 are ALL saying the exact some thing as a regent they have never heard of. He is also saying things that are 100% TRUE and accurate. There is NO ONE defending nor refuting the content of what he said..

This thread exposes why we have a mediocre program with more resources than 95% of our competition. We have a coach that has severely underperformed his contract while constantly having a dick personality with his fanbase...he just made our school a punchline in athletics again for at least a week, and yet there are superfans on here more concerned with class.

I call bull**** on these two jokers. Louisiana and Alabama are two states where this is probably more likely to happen. We finally have a big money booster taking action and everyone wants us to get back in the "good guy corner". The hell with that.

I hope any Regent, who is going to make a classless comment in public about firing our coach, will put his money where his mouth is and pay for Sumlin's contract buyout.

Are we STILL talking about "class" and being "classy" on Texags?!

I am immensely ready for the generation of Ags that care more about "class" and less about being fleeced to stop posting here.

I think sumlin should do the classy thing and resign. Otherwise I could care less about the optics of it. All he did was point out the elephant in the room.

All this talk about class comes across like French gentlemen debating warfare. Good grief. If a prospective coach has such thin skin that they'd be scared off by a random regent is that really someone you'd want? So much stupidity. This kind of country club mindset is why we lose.

We are burning money paying for coaches to embarrass us and underachieve. I'm through with class. I applaud Buzbee for speaking out. I hope other regents and big money alumni speak out.

Enough is enough

The "classy" nonsense is so tired and played out.

All schools have outspoken boosters and even regents.

We've just gotten soft and accustomed to boosters who will open their checkbooks for cheesy stuff like the chance to introduce their grandchildren at halftime or get the Yell Leader statue modeled on them.
