I would call a guy who has 36 years coaching experience a disappointing hire. He's coached in a lot of places, including coaching for the great Jim Wacker at TCU and Minnesota. Yes, he has bounced around, but I would say that we need a solid, veteran coach, not a young up and comer.

I played and coached for Dennis Parker and one of the great things he taught me is that it doesn't matter what you run, the only thing that matters is that your kids believe in what you run.

Chavis' defense is not complicated, not complicated at all. It's solid, and the kids believe in it.

That's all that matters.
