How long do you want to ignore this user?
By his teammates? There was definitely a divide in the locker room as far as the starting QB position is concerned (for the second year in a row). I'm thinking that KA saw the writing on the wall and decided to leave knowing he would never have the full support of his teammates.

Not sure what kind of kid he was, seemed nice and intelligent, but it was clear the team was on Kyler's side and not his. Blading not in disguise perhaps?

I think there was generally more support for Kyler due to his Texas ties. It seems very clear that Johnny supported Kyler more than KA.

Is it the Arkansas OT touchdown where Kyle is celebrating by himself?

Well, if he wasn't liked before he sure as hell isn't liked now.

It would be hard to tell from just watching the games but it did seem like very few players interacted with him after big offensive plays, especially Arkansas game where he had thrown the winning pass and was running around the field by himself.

You could sense the tension. In my opinion, RSJ's tweet was evidence that the team is happy he is gone. I called this two months ago that Kyle was going to transfer.

After every interview I watched, I always found him to be odd.
It was weird that he he would refer to players older than him as "Kid". Which by the way is the same verbiage the our OC uses. It was almost like he was memorizing a script on how to be a leader. I've had this conversation with different friends over the last 4 months.

(I know I might be making something out of nothing, but he always seemed like a little kid trying to be grown up.)

Many of the players did not like him. Sumlin was not on good terms with him apparently.

And now let the character assassinations begin. Before the end of this year Kyle Allen will have killed Kennedy.

Don't have Twitter so I can't post. If anyone has it can they post it here? It was just emoji of a "well, whatever" face. He didn't seem to care KA was leaving.

I don't think anyone is assassinating his character. But it was obvious his teammates didn't want him starting.

If he gave him the best chance of winning then that is what needed to happen. This is not a popular contest. The inmates do not run the asylum. And Allen could not be anywhere near as bad as Manziel that got arrested for screaming racial remarks while drunk and shirt-less.

If you're not well liked by your teammates and your a QB, you're going to have major issues. KA had confidence issues and I think a big part of that has to do with his teammates not having his back.

I noticed the same thing but kept to myself because of all the love he was getting. He was a good player, but seemed to be putting on a front when he was in the public eye. I felt like he was always trying to be humble, complimenting other players as well as himself, but it came off to his teammates as talking down to them (especially when referring to them as "kids") so they didn't buy that crap.

My guess is that he acted like he was the best all the time, but none (or most) of his teammates felt like he had earned that recognition. Once he started struggling his teammates, rather than support him through it, saw it as an opportunity to highlight those struggles to bring him off his high horse. This continued for the rest of the season, resulting in his final decision to GTFO of there.

Edits were for typos, been staring at my computer screen too long today.

We will never know. We will be told he wasn't, but that's just because it will make us look better, so hell, I'll buy in.

I don't think it's much of a loss him leaving. Couldn't fire the team up at all!

Seemed like it. A few occasions where the camera would show Allen pre-game or mid-game trying to pump up his teammates, there just did not appear to be much response from the other players. For whatever reason, it seemed like the team did not respond to him, and did not play very hard behind him. Hopefully wherever he lands next will be a better culture fit for him, and whoever is our next guy (Murray?) can have better effect rallying the team behind him.

That's because he appointed himself or Spav appointed him leader. And that's not how it work on a team. Your teammates appoint you as leader. This clearly didn't happen with KA and the team and is fairly obvious when looking at their interactions.

You're right. There's absolutely no need to drag him through the mud. However, it's legitimate to ask whether there were locker room issues behind this.

Manziel was a leader. KA was not.
Except for the part where he put the season in jeopardy for his teammates by taking money for autographs. People don't like to touch on that one
