As a proud UH alum who has had Coog football/basketball/baseball season tickets for 20+ years, I'd love to share my thoughts with you.

The first thought is embarrassment. Embarrassment that you told everyone you graduated from my school, but want to be an Aggie fan. Good God man, have some pride in your own school and team. You are the exact example of why people make fun of UH.

Second thought, don't be that guy. Turn this around. You're a Coog, act like one. Buy season tickets, get a UH polo and show pride in YOUR school. Invest in the prestige of your own degree and help UH become the big time football program it is destined to be.

Third thought, if you do turn your back on your own school and walk around in Aggie polos, please, PLEASE do not hang your UH diploma on the wall or tell anybody you graduated from my school.

I'm an Aggie Dad. yes, it's ok to root for the Aggies.

Of course it's ok to be an Aggie even if you didn't graduate from there. I graduated from Clemson and love my tigers, but I also love the Ags. I grew up in an A&M family, even had tickets during the Fran era, but tried to transfer into A&M and got wait-listed. I got into Clemson and decided to take that opportunity. I grew up an Aggie, and even though I went somewhere else, you can't just shut off the feelings you have for a university you've loved since you were a kid.

Holmes is not even from this country, so his opinion doesn't count. My Dad is a hardcore Aggie and he didn't go to aTm. There's nothing wrong with standing up for what's right and pulling for the good guys.

Ignore Holmes. Why is he even coming on here himself unless he's just checking up on his former coach.
Everyone's situation is different. Like you, you just started visiting Aggieland and love it. Maybe you never considered being an Aggie before and now you like what being an Aggie stands for.

Me, I didn't get to go to the school (went to Lamar) but I've been a fan all my life. It worked out too because during my college years, my mom had some pretty significant health issues that would have devastated me had I been away at school. My grandfather and I used to watch Aggie games all my growing up. My family mentor, a cousin, went to A&M. A&M has been in my blood all my life so if you are a UH grad but your heart wants to be an Aggie, then by God, be an Aggie!
