Congratulations on the official Chavis hire, Aggies!

The Chief will doubtless improve your D. Will get you an extra stop or two a game which might well translate into one or two extra wins.

After some initial shock, I think the majority of LSU fans are quite fine with Chavis gone. We're real excited about our new guys and the enthusiastic attitude and tremendous recruiting potential they bring.

A true win-win.

Nice try, but lsu fans are truly delusional if they are "glad" to see Chavis gone and also "excited" to see him replaced by freaking Kevin 70pt Steele. Not even Snyder gave up that many in a game with one of the youngest Ds in the nation the last 2 years. I can understand the interst in seeing someone New handle the reigns but there is simply no way Steele will ever be an upgrade or even close to that over Chavis and deep down you tigers know that. However if you can convince each other everything will be just fine then you can still live with the fact that your AD personally paved the way for Chavis to A&M.

As an LSU fan I can tell you that truthfully LSU fans in general are not upset over Chavis leaving. The 3rd and Chavis talk is based on actual outcomes of games and the Chavis philosophy to play soft in the last couple of minutes of a game. There have been many instances of Chavis doing this and blowing games not only at LSU but at Tennessee as well. There was a reason Tennessee did not try to retain Chavis after Phil Fulmer was fired and Chavis was let go by Tennessee which is his Alma- Mater.

In the last 3 years Chavis defense has allowed Bama to come from behind on last game drives after Bama was unable to move the ball the entire game. Against Clemson, Chavis philosophy allowed Clemson to complete a 4th and 17 to give Clemson a 1st down and go in for a game winning FG to win in the last few seconds 25-24. The same damn thing happened against Notre Dame this year where Chavis' defense allowed ND to get inposition to win with a last second FG. Similar things happened against UGA and a win vs. Ole Miss where it took a poorly thrown ball by Bo Wallace to finally beat Ole Miss. This occurred with LSU defensive personnell which was much better than what A&M has on its' roster. Also, LSU is still going to run the football Chavis or no Chavis.

Is Chavis an improvement for A&M? Sure. However, I am telling you that Chavis' track record at Tennessee and LSU tells you what to expect. You will see. Don't just listen to me. Here is an article from a sportswiter who has seen Chavis in action and he outlines the results since 2012.

Now we need to talk Aaron Glenn into coaching CB's and leave the safety's to Joseph.

Thinking steele is better is delusional. LSU never had an offense, so relying on the D to win every game, there are going to be moments where they just can't. It is similar to our 2013 season. Our offense could score at will. the no defense part, our offense just couldn't win us the games due to lack of no production on the D in every single game...

The problem with Chavis has run his entire career. Not just last year my friend. as clearly was stated in the article I attached the games mentioned were from the last 3 years. By the way LSU's offense had no problems in 2012 and 2013 yet the situation still occurred. These are facts not speculation.

In A&M's case, you boys are all just blaming Snyder yet you simply don't have the defensive talent to line up and play with LSU or Bama and several others. Snyder or no Snyder A&M doesn't have top Defensive talent. In 2014, LSU started true Freshmen WR's; true Freshmen RBs; and a Soph QB who had almost no experience yet LSU still managed to move the ball well vs A&M. You being happy with Chavis is to be expected until he pulls out his bag of tricks and plays soft coverage on 4th and 17 and allows a completion that costs you a game and then he repeats the same tactic half a dozen times in a 2-3 years span which costs you game after game because of his stubborn philosophy. Enjoy.

I love that this moron thinks steele is better than Chavis. How many times has steele been demoted or fired in his career vs. Chavis.

I cannot believe you have the gall to downplay our hire of Chavis when your school hired a guy famous for his failures to replace him.

I bet Chavis has our defense at least in the top 75 (if not better). A top 75 defense with this year's A&M offense (which was very inconsistent) would have won 10 games. I bet Steele has lsu's defense out of the top 40 next year.

You go ahead and put your eggs in the Chavis Basket. If LSU wanted to keep Chavis we would have. His time in BR is pockmarked with late losses and defensive breakdowns in the last minutes of games. He did the same at Tennessee when he was let go up there. We will see who laughs last. Chavis or no Chavis LSU will still beat A&M. Your defensive talent is just not good. LOL.

Even if "3rd down and Chavis" does hold water, it is still an enormous upgrade over 1st down and Snyder and Kevin Steele for that matter.

So nitpick all you want about one of the best DCs in college football over the last 2 decades, but no matter what you convince yourselves, it is still a huge loss for LSU and an enormous gain for A&M.

We'll see but you replaced Chavis with a guy who has produced as many defenses out of the top 50 as in it during his time as a DC. Chavis is a big reason you are 3-0 against A&M since under Sumlin. If you are too stupid to realize that you are still probably smarter than the average lsu fan.

Really, they never had an O? Guess you just forgot about 2 years ago with Hill, Beckham, Landry and Mettenberger. The D was what let LSU down 2 years ago not the O.

Nobody ever accused y'all of being smart.

Y'all have had an abysmal offense for years, yet throw one of the best DC's in the nation under the bus at every opportunity and refuse to pay him.

No wonder he left that sh*thole.

Just thino if Beckham had been on a better offense. Glad to see the sins of his college offenses aren't holding him back now.

Since I know the internet is hard to navigate and you couldn't have researched this they averaged 33 ppg in conference in 2013. Offense really sucked right?

You guys are clueless. He led the sec in all purpose yards and was # 2 in the nation in 2013 in all purpose yards. He had over 1k yards receiving in 2013 splitting catches with another 1K yard receiver in Jarvis Landry. Keep trying.

With the exception of last year we won't be. Apparently you ignore our offensive production since joining the SEC.

In a terrible down year that showed great promise, we still averaged 25 points in conference. 33 is laughable for your "golden year" full of NFL talent.

Buh bye corndog.

Wait before last year A&M was more than an average sec team? Must have fooled everyone else in the country. Your terrible down year started out with a heisman trophy candidate and a NC after the first few games lol. Most delusional fan base in the country.

You're flat silly. With the way LSU has run Louisiana, which per capita is easily in the top of the top players in the NFL per capita, you guys are a disappointment. I work in Louisiana. I know delusion. You has it.

No y'all hyped him just like y'all jerk off to Johnny every day. I can post all the links from here if you would like. There is no delusion with lsu. They have been very average the last 2 years no one can deny that. Until they get a qb they will continue to be average. Lsu has averaged a nc appearance every 4 years for the last 12 years so I'd say they have done something with that La and tx talent they recruited.
