Congratulations on the official Chavis hire, Aggies!
The Chief will doubtless improve your D. Will get you an extra stop or two a game which might well translate into one or two extra wins.
After some initial shock, I think the majority of LSU fans are quite fine with Chavis gone. We're real excited about our new guys and the enthusiastic attitude and tremendous recruiting potential they bring.
A true win-win.

Thinking steele is better is delusional. LSU never had an offense, so relying on the D to win every game, there are going to be moments where they just can't. It is similar to our 2013 season. Our offense could score at will. the no defense part, our offense just couldn't win us the games due to lack of no production on the D in every single game...

As an LSU fan I can tell you that truthfully LSU fans in general are not upset over Chavis leaving. The 3rd and Chavis talk is based on actual outcomes of games and the Chavis philosophy to play soft in the last couple of minutes of a game. There have been many instances of Chavis doing this and blowing games not only at LSU but at Tennessee as well. There was a reason Tennessee did not try to retain Chavis after Phil Fulmer was fired and Chavis was let go by Tennessee which is his Alma- Mater.
In the last 3 years Chavis defense has allowed Bama to come from behind on last game drives after Bama was unable to move the ball the entire game. Against Clemson, Chavis philosophy allowed Clemson to complete a 4th and 17 to give Clemson a 1st down and go in for a game winning FG to win in the last few seconds 25-24. The same damn thing happened against Notre Dame this year where Chavis' defense allowed ND to get inposition to win with a last second FG. Similar things happened against UGA and a win vs. Ole Miss where it took a poorly thrown ball by Bo Wallace to finally beat Ole Miss. This occurred with LSU defensive personnell which was much better than what A&M has on its' roster. Also, LSU is still going to run the football Chavis or no Chavis.
Is Chavis an improvement for A&M? Sure. However, I am telling you that Chavis' track record at Tennessee and LSU tells you what to expect. You will see. Don't just listen to me. Here is an article from a sportswiter who has seen Chavis in action and he outlines the results since 2012.

You go ahead and put your eggs in the Chavis Basket. If LSU wanted to keep Chavis we would have. His time in BR is pockmarked with late losses and defensive breakdowns in the last minutes of games. He did the same at Tennessee when he was let go up there. We will see who laughs last. Chavis or no Chavis LSU will still beat A&M. Your defensive talent is just not good. LOL.
quote:We'll see but you replaced Chavis with a guy who has produced as many defenses out of the top 50 as in it during his time as a DC. Chavis is a big reason you are 3-0 against A&M since under Sumlin. If you are too stupid to realize that you are still probably smarter than the average lsu fan.

Here is some of that top defensive talent at A&M.

Really, they never had an O? Guess you just forgot about 2 years ago with Hill, Beckham, Landry and Mettenberger. The D was what let LSU down 2 years ago not the O.
quote:Since I know the internet is hard to navigate and you couldn't have researched this they averaged 33 ppg in conference in 2013. Offense really sucked right?
Don't just throw names out there... How many PPG were they putting up, excluding the OOC?
quote:You guys are clueless. He led the sec in all purpose yards and was # 2 in the nation in 2013 in all purpose yards. He had over 1k yards receiving in 2013 splitting catches with another 1K yard receiver in Jarvis Landry. Keep trying.quote:quote:

Just thino if Beckham had been on a better offense. Glad to see the sins of his college offenses aren't holding him back now.

Wait before last year A&M was more than an average sec team? Must have fooled everyone else in the country. Your terrible down year started out with a heisman trophy candidate and a NC after the first few games lol. Most delusional fan base in the country.

And to be fair, ESPN helped hype hill to the max. Let's call it what it is bro.
