Malik doesn't commit til the 19th. I'm not giving out any premium info.. But I'll let you know to not worry, and be patient.

Everybody who is worth a s**t is going to wait for all of the coaching openings to be announced so they can create maximum demand for there services. Auburn fired there DC Sunday, Michigan announced there HC firing today, they will wait until the end of the week, look at all the offers on the table then decide. We will either not have a DC in one week or we will have a B grade DC in a week- none of the big names out there will decide over the next week.

Muschamp said he's taking time off. Don't expect him to announce anytime soon. Venables said he's very happy where he's at and shot down the rumors. Even though he was on camera after a game for their teams media he could be lying. But who knows. I'm anxious

I don't think we would rush to get a DC by this weekend due to a recruits arbitrary timeline. Hopefully the recruits will appreciate the extra time needed to make an informed choice.

Exactly. Do you think A&M could force Muschamp to speed up his timetable because of a recruit we want? Assuming Muschamp has at least two fantastic offers to consider he will do what's best for him.

Instead we should tell all recruits to sit tight while we find the best DC possible. Any commitment made now is verbal anyway.

I hope my info is wrong, but I hear Muschamp is a no...too many other attractive offers...some saying he could get 2+ million. Again I hope I'm wrong because he would bring back the wrecking crew but I'm told he has said no.

I would think that a big draw for a DC would be the talent he is going to get to work with. With Garret and the defensive commits we have, and the good chance that a top DC could then help us land Malik and a few other defensive players, anybody who would consider our DC position should pull the trigger sooner rather than later IMO.

muschamp is at the beach *$*(ing his wife for the next few days while the offers keep rolling in, positions keep opening up and offers/discussions keep coming for him to consider. He is the lebron in the DC circle right now so once he makes a decision all others will be made.

There are a lot of potential DCs floating around right now.
If Miles leaves LSU, Chavis may be available.

No need to rush until the dusts settles.
A&M recruits who are also considering LSU won't do anything until they see if Miles leaves.

We're not going to choose a DC based upon recruit timelines. As necessary Sumlin will let the kids know what he can to keep them comfortable.

This search starts with Muschamp for a lot of schools. Until we know that's not an option and we've moved on to our next target - I don't think we'll see or hear anything.

Despite what most of the idiots on this board think - we're being very deliberate and thorough in our search. Sumlin knows he needs to make the right hire and he's not in a huge hurry.

Miles isn't leaving LSU. Michigan is a worse job than it was years ago when they first came after him.

If Sumlin signs Malik and Daylon without a big name DC hire, then major respect to him.

Seriously there have been 3 HC hired since we started our search DC should be a quicker turn around.

Have patience... we'll have a DC soon. His name is probably Bob and he's totally watched a ton of games and knows how to defense. His Madden skills will be unmatched.

I joke, but even the guy I describe will probably put together a better defense than what we have now.
