That TCU story is was totally made up less than 10 years ago and now everyone goes with it. It came from the military term "gig" which is basically like a demerit. Cadets would basically get hazed with they got gigs

As a veteran this has always made more sense to me. During uniform reviews and block of instruction "gig" is probably the most used word.

Thanks for the replies. At first I thought it was a reference to TCU. Only problem is a Horned Frog is actually a Lizard. Military phrase makes more sense.

I heard both from Ol' Ags. I think the mystique of the origins of "Gig' Em" makes it a cool tradition.
