I wonder if they'll save the no longer lit KYLE FIELD letters from the west side press box facade...?

The 5th canopy support is officially up. They're across the halfway point now.

Where are they going to put a tree on top? Does that go up whenever the last beam is set?

Yesterday afternoon

Question about new seating areas in place.

They have looked mostly white. Now brown everywhere.

Is that mud? Or it rained and dust stuck to the wet areas?

I think it's just wet

It's been so long since I've read about construction and don't feel like going back and reading. Are they going to tear down the 2nd and 3rd decks on the east side? and they're tearing down the entire west side, correct?

I highly doubt the facade, such as it is, for the south EZ has been cut. It would not be a major cost savings anyway. The south EZ was not going to get a full facade but really just cover up the main steel support and cross beams. There is/was always going to be exposed walkways and lots of exposed steel beams. Given the fact is is pre-cast, not much $$.

We aren't going to spend this much $$ and leave a steel erector-set look facing the Bright complex, to be sure.

Sure looks like we are.

Need more pics.

Future class gifts. One panel per class to cover it all eventually.

Meaning we won't drop the planned south zone facade which will soften the look of it.

It still won't be as bad as Penn State or Neyland before the latter did their impressive renovation.

This rendering shows the South EZ beams covered with brick facade (at least through the second deck).... this looks much better than just leaving the steel beams without covering them up.

The south upper deck looks to overhang part of Bright. A facade cannot therefore be vertical from grade like the north facade. Placing a facade with a significant horizonal plane component under the south upper deck would be subject to tension on the connections due to gravity continually. Horizontal facades overhead are not a good idea from aafety standpoint.

I am referring above to a brick type facade. Some kind of metal facade should work.

SO much worry about SO much minutia!

It is not symmetric!
The field is NOT centered about the student decks!
The jumbotron is too big!
The North EZ first deck and the new east side first deck do not line up!
The tunnels on the SEZ do not match those on the NEZ!


What else is causing underwear twisting to take place??

They usually put the tree up when they've completed the tallest part of the structure and have made it to the top of the building. Since they didn't put it on top of the video board that's now topped off, I'm guessing they are using the entire construction project and won't add the tree until the west side is topped out.

I need my new pictures.

so maybe I'm seeing things, but do the beams to the left and right of the screen, going up vertically, not look symmetrical? It looks like the ones on the right are at an angle, while the ones on the left are closer to together and at a similar angle.
