Tidefans.com is actually a pretty decent board. It's heavily moderated and there are lots of hidden rules (e.g., don't call a Bammer, a Bammer, because that's offensive for some unstated reason that will result in you getting kicked off). That said, I think the intelligent posters outnumber the loons, which means you can actually get into a football discussion with them.

"The continuous toe-heel touching is part of a single process and by interpretation he has landed out of bounds, thus not executing a catch." This last part in the ruling is where that interpretation comes from. When his left toe came down first, that established his left foot as the first part of him down. Because the heel-toe touching is considered a single process, it's the same as if his whole foot came down at once.

Do you have a video of the play(s) you're talking about? I'm by no means an expert, but I can offer my opinion on it. But one of the things you have to realize is that DPI are the two biggest judgement calls in all of football. Everybody has their own opinion on every play. Also, most situations have 1, sometimes 2 officials looking at it, where as TV can get many more angles on a single play. Sometimes things just get missed.

it was not shown on tv or reviewed but a long 4th quarter pass by bama on the west side of the field , the receiver went out of bounds without being forced came back in to make the catch. Clearly visible from our seats in the end zone. Almost look like our DB saw it and let up on his coverage thus the completion.

Not to mention they barely got a first down on a fourth down when they were losing 21-0 In the second quarter. And jff barely not covering a 4th down on the next possession

There's a lot of gold to mine in some of those posts.

A couple gems: It was our BYE WEEK before we played them that gave us the advantage. No, we just PLAYED like we were well rested and full of energy.


They outscored us 17-0 in quarters 2 & 3. Yeah, if it wasn't for those unimportant quarters, you know the start of the game and the end of the game, where we outscored you 29-7.....

They are unbelievably full of themselves.

Apparently, for bama fans, "playing our game" means winning every stat entry for the contest...which is achievable if you're playing substandard competition. The problem lies when you get duped into believing that everyone is substandard competition.

If he had toe punched the ground and then got his foot up, it would have been an int. Because his foot went toe to heel and the heel was out in one motion, he was out.

11) is the one that kills me. SEC fans in general are pretty dense about the running game. You just don't beat a team like A&M with a power run game out of predictable i-formations. Most teams with decent talent can keep offense like this in check. Bottom line is that A&M wasn't good against the pass last year, and that was the only way Bama could win. They didn't pass the ball nearly enough in the game. They moved the ball nearly at will in the air at times in the second half.

Well, maybe we should stop repeating all of our excuses for the UF and LSU losses.
