Interview him for sure. As to whether he's a better candidate than Strong, not so sure.

Another underwhelming choice, but he's more interesting than Sumlin.

I want him interviewed, but don't know who I want yet.

Put me down as follows:

Fedora > Smart/Strong > Turner Gill > Sumlin

All in

Strong/Sumlin/Fedora....then Smart. All look to be good candidates, but Smart has the look of someone that will take the first train back to Bama should the situation arise.

Fedora!

He has one potential drawback.

BL does not have a personal relationship with him like he does with Sumlin.

A&M could do a lot worse than Fedora.

Fedora has been my #1 choice the whole time. He would be a steal and is a great fit for the SEC and A&M.

He also wouldn't cost an arm and a leg like Strong. Seriously, we could probably get him for barely more than half of what we'd have to pay Strong. I want the guy that will get the job done regardless of money, but given they are all uncertainties, leaving yourself some cash to build a high quality recruiting machine assistant staff + flexibility to cut bait in 3-4 years if it doesn't work has to be a factor. Strong is going to require $3 mill or more for 6-7 years.
