I met and visited with his Grandad in the Zone Club for about 1/2 hour before the game. He was the guest of a friend of mine Cl of '60. Class folks. Yes his dad did play at tu.

Pretty cool. I has missed this during live action.

Ags tweeting his class act like crazy...this kid deserves to be recognized for his behavior on the field.

I went to school with Blake's Dad and Aunt at Lake Highlands in Dallas. While they were supportive sips, they were always very nice people. Glad to hear they passed on the good genes to Blake!

Tell him we appreciated the effort, hope he gets back on the field quickly and point out that he helped teach our two oldest about sportsmanship...used it as a chance to teach.

TexAgs Radio should interview this guy and really pump him up, and pass on the thanks of Aggies everywhere!

And 3rd - It might be impermissible for TexAgs to give free access to a scholarship athlete; definitely don't want to do anything like that when we're trying to thank the kid.

Now, it may be within the power of the mods to move this thread to the zoo, if they want it made public.

You’re a pretty popular guy in College Station at the moment….

My name is (3rd Platoon), and I’m (an SMU fan). I’m also an Aggie, so yes, I was at the game on Sunday watching my two favorite teams go head-to-head. Lots of Aggies have been watching the replay of the game and a very simple act of good sportsmanship on your part has been noticed by hundreds and hundreds of Aggie fans. When Trent Hunter (#1 for A&M) intercepted a pass, he lost his helmet when he was brought down after the return. In the video, you appear to be covering Trent’s helmet-less head from exposure.

In a day and age where so much is wrong with college athletics, it’s good to see that good sportsmanship still exists. I know that you hurt your ankle later in the game, so I hope all goes well with your recovery and that you get back on the field soon. You’ve made tons of fans out of countless Aggies who witnessed a very, very simple, but solid gesture in good sportsmanship. There are so many Aggies that have expressed gratitude and appreciation on various A&M message boards and what not, and we all wish you a speedy recovery and that you have a terrific season overall.

I know the game’s outcome didn’t turn out how you would’ve liked, but I just thought you ought to know that you have some new fans in Aggieland. I live in Dallas and go to Collin College in Plano(hoping to transfer to A&M) and this past summer I joined a college group called ONE28 which meets on the SMU campus during the school year. The first time I went during the summer Blake was the first guy I met. Blake is a great christian guy and a class act. I'm proud to call him my friend. I will see him tomorrow night at our weekly meeting and let him know of this forum. P.S all of the SMU fans in the upper Zone in blue for the game, that was coordinated and put on by ONE28. We were all holding our breath when he went down.

Story here....his grandad, Herb, is an Aggie...RC didn't offer Kirk, and Herb was not happy. RC was sensitive to offering big donor's kids scholarships, just because they were BMA. Herb got mad and through connections, got Kirk an offer from Texas...on signing day, RC was with the Texas Recruiting Coordinator, Randy Rogers, I think....Randy did know who Kirk was....I agree with RC that we have to offer based on talent. However, Kirk is a fine man and played well for Texas...we missed on that one...
