yes, this is a preemptive warning for would be "uncover" nazis. taking your hat off during yells is NOT a tradition.

A general yelling of uncover is fine - the real problem is when it is targeted towards someone and becomes excessive and rude - especially since that person is usually a visitor
If it means that much to you, simply tap the person on the shoulder and ask them nicely to take off their hat to respect our traditions

People can wear their hats if they want. Yell traditions arent a moment of silence or the national anthem.

Pretty sure taking off your hat during a yell IS a tradition, at least it was when I was there, 95-00. When were you there?

Proof??? What the hell kinda question is that? It was a widely-accepted custom that at yell practice when you did a yell, you took your hat off. If the Corps does it, you do it. Maybe it's evolved. New Army is lazy like that. Hell they probably won't even take their hats off in the MSC when it reopens.

It was a tradition to uncover for yells when I was there, 02-06. Anyone who was wearing maroon and didn't uncover got reamed (except for older folks).

Correct, people should learn it wasn't a tradition, and I was there the same time you were.

The fact that dumbasses came up with it a while ago doesn't make it a tradition. Could you explain WHY you need to take your hat off during a yell? Of course not because it's POINTLESS.

Really, I was there at that time and I remember it not being a tradition. first thing I was told at fish camp... UNCOVER IS NOT A TRADITION, don't be an idiot and yell uncover

although that doesn't mean there weren't idiots there yelling uncover...maybe you're confusing the two.

Uncover is not a tradition. Hats are made to be worn to sporting events. Kyle Field is not a memorial in any form, thus I will keep my hat on and likely yell louder than you.

Im ashamed to be New Army... seems that the south side is lack of traditions and Upper classmen are not showing the fish proper aggie spirit,.. first hart, then hotard, latter it willbe Walton, A&M is disbanding these hollowed institutions... before you know it ppl will be wondering why the hell we do yells any more...

Do dorms on the southside have there own yells, do they letterhead, do they secure the pot, bunch of panzies would cry to there moma's if they had to wake up, or be woken up to go chop some wood for Bonfire then go to class...
