Walton gave Rev seizures?

I think it would be cool if ya'll went with the German Shepard and no collie. Its a much more military dog and looks more hard core. Also I dont think anyone else in college footabll has one.

Wait, so people want to go with a German Shepherd because it's a more military style and represents our culture, but don't want to show the Corps on TV because we don't people to think of us as a historically military school? Did I get that right? And FTR, I'm against Corps Block as evidenced by my comments on other threads.

I've always liked Reveille as a Collie and (I know I'm gonna flamed for this) her ladylike nature. I've always enjoyed how A&M was viewed as more "gentlemanly" than our counterparts and I'd like to keep it that way.

I liked the idea of Blue Lacys. If we didn't change breeds last time though, I doubt we ever will.

Can we have a mutt that is part Collie and part German Shepherd? That's a Win-Win-Win right there.

I don't remember all the details, because I drank a lot of beer then, and still do now... but there were several articles run in the Batt about her (Rev) having epileptic seizures and stuff. Having to send her to the vet hospital for testing and so on...

Some of the Walton guys ended up writing in to the Batt talking about how they just need to "put that epileptic b---- down" and stuff like that. They (the Jocks) were none too happy about the comments that were made about the First Lady!

No question, if we are not going with just a mutt picked out of the pound every 4 years, then we need to change to a Belgian Malinois. Most police and military forces use these, not necessarily to smell, although they are good at that, but mainly for attack and to hold a prisoner on the ground. A Belgian Malinois was in the seal team that killed Bin Laden. These dogs cost about $10,000 at the age of 6 mos.

But, my preference is to get a new mutt from the pound every 4 years.

Really, though. If we can get a say in anything, it should at least be the damn mascot. Pound puppies are okay, but the image would change so much from mascot to mascot. Prefer a breed for continuity.

The Blue Lacy is the only breed I'm aware of that was developed in Texas, by the Lacy brothers. Part coyote, part greyhound, and part English shepherd, they can herd wild hogs as well as sheep and cattle. Great scent hounds with tremendous speed.

unfortunately, we recently brought up "other breeds" for consideration, and we all found out that we MOST DEFINITELY HAVE enshrined the collie. I am not a collie fan, and I was all for changing breeds. the powers-that-be tho, apparently they're stuck on collies.

I am all for the Mastiff. I always thought it would be great if we had a Mastiff and it ripped out Bevo's throat during pregame or half time. Now that would motivate. If I am not mistaken Mastiff's were used in ancient times to fight lions.

The first Rev was a mutt, and I'm good with that. I'd love to go back to a mutt.

As a German Shepherd owner, I completely agree that one should replace the Collie. A GSD's character is much like A&M- disciplined, proud, loyal, intelligent, and a military history.

It makes sense to us, convincing the suits is the hard part...

Rev looks like a wimp and acts like a biotch. How about a dog that LOOKS like a bad a-- and acts like one.

If I were Tenneessee with the hound or Georgia with the bulldog, I'd laugh at our wimpy (and "pretty" American collie.

Seems this is a common opinion unless you're a "dog boy" from E-2.

Give me a well-trained border collie.

This is not true at all. I have a bulldog and he is anything but docile and I am consistently shocked at how smart he is. Bulldogs are awesome.

I'll volunteer my guy. He's already got a personalized Aggie jersey. He comes to one game a year, it's always a lot of fun bringing him.

If we can't go with a black lab (we should), then at least go with one of the physically best looking dogs out there.

I've posted this before....good enough for Patton, should be good enough for us...



If not let's get a Lab and teach it to retrieve the kicking tee....
