So what is the special BOR meeting on Aug 22 about?

It's about what they are getting me for my birthday.

Probably to highlight how great the LHN will be for building the Aggie brand and promoting the Big 12-2.

Just a question. Not sure how this works. Are they required to disclose every topic discussed? If so, how is it possible to keep anything discrete? Ex. Salaries, litigation etc.

It is a meeting to discuss a new shade of beige that was recently discovered.
They're planning on moving the ice cream box in Sbisa back to it's original location. This is huge Ags.
Isn't that the same day (Aug 22nd) that the NCAA is holding their meeting to discuss, among other things, televising HS games on college networks?

Where do BOR meetings take place? Can students/fans show up to demonstrate? Even if we can't influence their choice, we can force them to conclusively say what we are planning, one way or the other. I'm tired of this uncertainty bs.
ArchAg10 it's a 'Special Telephonic Meeting' so, unless you have their # and code to attend the teleconference, I don't think anyone else will attend.
If only it were tech's board of regents we could just tie another line on the tin can....

The Board of Regents meeting was scheduled to approve the FY12 budget for the Texas A&M System and member institutions. No new news here ... it was announced at the last Board meeting several weeks ago.

No matter what the meeting is about, TexAgs traffic will soot through the roof and the servers may very well meltdown.

--> First Yell is a University event.
--> Brian Regan is performing at First Yell.
--> Brian Regan was on the Late show with David Letterman in 2010.
--> David Letterman also had other guests on in 2010, one of which was Kevin Bacon.

Very simple it will discuss the outcome of the NCAA meeting on HS games on the LHN. If NCAA allows LHN to broadcast games - A&M will anounce our intent to leave. If NCAA permanently blocks HS games it's a 0-25% chance we still leave. If NCAA puts it on hold or a moratorium - 50% chance we leave.
Realistically, we will stay if NCAA blocks the broadcast UNLESS tu tries to strong arm other Big 1x members into airing games on their network (allegedly already happening as reported on here). Given the invites to the meeting it will be a one sided discussion, so my guess is the admin is PLANNING for the worst outcome, status quo otherwise.
