On Episode 5 of the Lone Star Lookback Series, legendary Texas A&M head football coach R.C. Slocum and Texas national championship-winning head coach Mack Brown sat down for a memorable discussion regarding their mutual respect for each other and deeply rooted love for the Texas A&M vs. Texas rivalry. A pair of College Football Hall of Famers, both Slocum and Brown spent 14 seasons in the history rivalry. After his tenure as the head coach in College Station ended, Slocum has served as special adviser to the Texas A&M president as well as two separate stints as the Aggies’ interim athletic director. Leaving Austin in Dec. of 2013, Brown spent five years out of the coaching profession before returning to North Carolina, where he spent 10 seasons guiding the Tar Hill prior to being hired by Texas. Brown is currently in his sixth year of his second stint in Chapel Hill.
