I thought it might be fun if people took photos of their car or truck with SECede stickers and posted it on this thread...especially if anyone was committed enough to put one on an expensive sports car! I would also like to see a photo of one on a really old truck from the 1940s or 1950s - that would just be cool. Of course, cool backgrounds like SEC stadiums, scenic overlooks, etc. would add interest as well.

Take it FWIW, but what you aren't seeing are the discussions on the Scout, TexAgs and Rivals premium boards.

I have 3 unrelated sources that do not know each other (One is a direct tie to an A&M regent, one is a Sooner/Tiger(LSU kind) and one is a Horn). For the first time since conference realignment heated up, they are all agreeing on the story.

From what I have been told, A&M to the SEC is a done deal. What the hold up is, is whether OU comes along, and if OU comes along (all seem to think it is likely) then OU will broker OSU and Mizzou into the SEC as well. Frankly, I'd rather it just be us.... but if someone else has to come along, I'm alright with OU. I'm not a big fan of OSU and Mizzou coming along too, but I guess if OU/OSU is really a package, then that would have to happen.

Let's just get one myth out of the way before some rebuts my post. A&M and Texas have never been a package and never will be a package. Legislative reasons for keeping them together are far less important in 2011 than in May 2010 (especially since the ESiPN contract was signed). A&M is in very good standing with the State Legislature right now, and I have perused the 100 or so pages for their funding presentation to the legislature, and it all looks great. Yes, politics helped to stem the tide in 2010, but I can promise you Perry and other lawmakers, not named Aggie or Horn, have not had any influence, nor will have any influence on this 2011 decision.

Now, for the timetable.... I have been told for a while that we would announce in June that we would go to the SEC. I have been told, as of yesterday, that it is much much sooner.

My sources are a combination of being apart of the Champions Council at A&M (think higher up TAF committees), knowing the Castiglione family and those who have worked for the OU Athletic Department, and having a business relationship with a large Horn booster.... those are my 3 unrelated sources.

Couple that with what is being tossed around on some of the premium message boards and those shaking out with the stories I am hearing, and for the first time since all of this started, the stories line up across the board.

Below are some excerpts from the link provided after this paragraph. Members post their school logos here and you can see there is a decent number of universities represented here, not just L.S.U. or SEC schools. The Ag with 3 independent high-level contacts (Ball Gravy) is giving the probability of Texas A&M going to the SEC soon a 9.5 out of 10 right now. He is one verification away from giving it a 10. A Rice alum is confirming many of the things Ball Gravy is stating. If all this is really happening the problem right now is what to do with Texas Tech. I know that this is all internet rumors and chatter, but I'm encouraged...definitely not a boring read. Make of it what you will.

On a scale of 1-10, how much weight does this A&M to the SEC rumor hold?

Texas made its move when it inked the UTESPN deal. That was the final straw.

It's a 9.5 right now, and until I can see an email from the one source I really want to talk to, I won't put it at a 10. With that said, I have some other really solid power brokers agreeing on EVERYTHING going on right now, which is odd.

I got the impression from gravy and another aggie i know that a&m had made what ever assurance they needed to.

but Gravy was acting as if there was nothing the Leg could do,, they could do a lot.
but from what I just found out minutes ago from Austin is that UT has gotten the promises it needed

Tech and Baylor will gripe,, someeone will grandstand,, how FAR they take it,

yeah,, I just got that as well,,,within the hour,, Ill give gravy credit what he shared in private gave me a clue what to ask and who to ask

Tech,will raise hell and they are not without their influence,, seniority in the right committees.

we'll see. again if Tech has a fall back plan that they're comfortable with and its in place then they would probably see the writing on the way and move now while they can negotiate something

isn't this like the whole Cam Newton thing. People who say they know things. I hate to be the downer, but it seems like one of those things that you really can't trust

At this point the statements on Tigerdroppings are just rumors. I read all 12 pages of that thread and found it very informative. I have a hard time believing people over there are just jerking everyone around. Obviously I hope the statements are true. The Aggie with the handle Ball Gravy apparently has some very good connections, but we don't have any more to go on at this point.

I actually recall that there was a poster by that name several years ago on texags. When Gillispie left us for Kentucky, Balls Gravy appeared and told us about what was really going on between BCG & Byrne. Many suspected Balls Gravy of being an official within Aggie Athletics. I wonder what ever did happen to him.

Now that National Signing Day has passed, I'd like to get in contact with Old Main and ask him about his sources about us going to the SEC. I am very skeptical of us going there and have a hard time believing certain posts on texags.com.

well, whether you like the sec or not it certainly looks better than the b12-2 (and eventually what it will become, defunct or the non-football sports league for an indy tu).

It is our best option right now. Anything is better than staying in the b12-2.

I will probably give up hope sometime this summer. But I can keep hope alive until then because there is no way they would announce the move until after the leg session.

If you guys remember I was completely against the SEC, Old Main and I have spoken, we're hearing a lot of the same things, some things very detailed in terms of who and where it's coming from. It's still not finalized though, however I doubt there is anything that's going to stop it from what I can see. I've also spoken with someone with a big OU generational family and connections, and I've heard some interesting things coming from there. My only advice is to just relax and trust that things are in motion.
