It is over. The big 12 is not going to reneg. This is all about pr. The sips want to make us look like the bad. They are not happy that we pissed in their cheerios, and they want to make us pay. But it is all PR.

You don't unzip your fly on Facebook like Dr. Loftin did unless you have a plan B.

I think a&m will get the money from the little 5 if they request it.

I don't mind looking bad when it means we expect the conference to keep their commitment.

Why do you want to wait until we are in the SEC to not bash Loftin? Most guys on this forum didn't give Loftin any credit for knowing anything. Said he was an idiot, etc.

You can't have it both ways.

Because he turned down an offer from the top conference in the country, and did it on the basis of an offer we knew to be bogus.

If you were, then you were either a Big XII employee, FOX employee, ESPN employee, a A&M Board of Regent, President Loftin, Deloss Dodds, Powers, or a tu regent.

I know and have talked to two of the above mentioned individuals and believe they probably know more about the situation than you do.

Total BS, they've already proven to be too gutless to move to the SEC. It's just more posturing/smoke/mirrors..

I'm glad this board has such experts that were in the negotiations the whole time.

Believe me, there are a lot of people in high positions that wish we had gone to the SEC. Politics and TV Networks have more power than you can believe.

Go to a website called Coogscorner. It's for Washington State. It has a good article dated June 14th that discusses just how powerful the Networks are.

The current Big XII and the 7 dwarfs won the battle. A&M will win the war and be in the SEC by 2016, probably sooner.

Those trying to blame loftin for this are misguided. This was a political decision. Perry wanted this for political purposes and called in his chips to get it done.

I don't think Loftin is saying he blindly believed that we would receive $20MM/year. He is stating, in a politically correct way, that we were promised the money and we agreed to stay in the Big 12-2 dependent upon that money. If the money isn't there, neither are we.

The entire college football world was buzzing about A&M to the SEC. The school could have really made a big statement about its individualism. It could have done something that was so obviously desired by it's fanbase and alums -- instead, it grabbed ankles for the bongwhorns.

So you tell me, genius, what evidence you have that says it will do anything different the second time around when all the hoopla has ended, and the spotlight has been turned off.

This school wont do anything intelligent in regards to athletics until the current admin is all but gone..

Exactly.

If you leave when the "hey, our offer is just as good!" deal is on the table, we're the villain.

If you leave once the other side renegs, you may be a villain in some quarters, but many, many more will consider your decision justified.

I think the admins need to tell us what exactly was promised by Beebe. If he simply said $20 mil without spelling out where it was from. Then how we are being treated here is beyond the pale and we just need to leave the conference.

Beebe has gone public and our admins need to step up and address us. Its past time.

Can someone tell me where can A&M bolt to, not SEC, as that offer is done and Silvee has stated before that SEC will not make a move to expand unless a complete conference realignment occurs in the NCAA surface. As SEC has zero incentive to do this, as they are the most powerful conference in NCAA right now.
