Not a supporter or detractor of Major, but just wondering.......

Major Applewhite should not be considered for HC at A&M. He does not have enough experience. He is 29 years old. I don't know why this keeps coming up.

No. This is Major's 2nd year at oc. He's a sip and he will go to t.u. when given the opportunity. Do you think Byrne would invest time and money into a guy who will always want to go to our rival school?

do you honestly think he wouldnt come here because hes a sip? that would be such a stupid reason not to hire sombody.. he'll be loyal to wherever hes getting that 6 figure income from.

How about you use your brain and re-read my post. I never said he wouldn't come here and I also said byrne wouldn't invest in him because only time would keep him in College Station. We would eventually lose him to t.u.

That seems like a pretty reasonable statement to me. Applewhite seems like he has the skills to be a good HC at some point, but he's not qualified to take over a major program. Actually, I'm not sure that he's qualified to take over a program like Baylor at this point. Give him a few years of seasoning and he'll be ready, but not now.

You are of the belief that one half or so of a coordinator's team's performance should push said coordinator into contention for a major head coaching position?
