Thanks for posting, I've don't think I've ever seen this, if I have have forgotten. I assumed this clip was pulled from the movie Joyeux Noël.

It was a commercial aired in 2014 by Sainsbury in the UK, not from Joyeux Noel. (Which isn't too bad of a movie either)

The Really sad part of the 1914 Christmas Truce was most if the participants ended up being tried for treason and executed by their respective governments.

Not true, no one was court martialed or executed.

Even the martinets in charge realized that would have crushed morale in what were already low morale units.

Glad to know that was not true. As much tragedy as there was concerning WWI, it's good to learn that one one of the brightest humaine acts of WWI didn't directly lead to senseless executions
