He always had great playlists.

I'll be honest and say there were several times that I couldn't understand a word he was saying, but when it comes to running, a lot of times I'm just doing an "endurance run" and picking workouts based on time/music vs the workout itself.

Agreed. I liked his energy and rarely actually do the class. I can about the music and the instructor personally.

It's official, my in studio ride will be a 30min HIIT and Hills ride with Olivia at 7am Central on Oct. 29. Since it will be my 40th birthday, I think a hills class is only fitting. I would love to flood the leaderboard with #TexasAggies

Any recommendations for new shoes for the bike? I have the original Peloton shoes and I have a buckle that broke off plus the top clasp digs into the top of my foot and it can be really uncomfortable.

The Peloton Altos worth it?

Got this email today. I did not add the bolds.
Subject: An update regarding your Tread+

Hi XpressAg09,

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Peloton is voluntarily extending the availability of the full refund for your Tread+ treadmill through November 6, 2023.

We previously shared information about our voluntary recall of the Peloton Tread+ and subsequently rolled out Tread Lock to all connected units. This safety feature is a unique passcode that prevents inadvertent use of the treadmill by children and other unauthorized users, preventing accidental misuse.

In cooperation with the CPSC, we are also developing a rear guard solution that would help protect users against the risk of accidental pull-under at the back of the treadmill. Before implementing such a solution, the CPSC must first approve the rear guard as part of Peloton's voluntary recall. Currently, we do not have additional information about the timing for the availability of this possible rear guard solution for our Members.

That said, rest assured, Peloton is committed to the treadmill category, and we'll continue to provide our Members with amazing running, walking, and bootcamp experiences on world class equipment. We'll continue to offer motivating treadmill-based classes and, in fact, we just announced Camila Ramn as a new Tread instructor as well as several new features including splits in class, Just Run with Goals, and updated marathon training programming.

At Peloton, product safety will always be a top priority. Please remember to follow all safety instructions and keep children, pets, and objects away from treadmills at all times during use. Never provide your Tread Lock passcode to children or other unauthorized users and, after use, always remove and store the safety key away from the unit and out of the reach of children.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact our Support team toll free at 866-679-9129 between 6 AM - 12 AM ET, 7 days a week, or visit Peloton's Support Page for recent updates on the Tread+ recall.

I love our tread but still want the tread+ design. Wish they would make it available for purchase.

Sounds like it's coming…just no timeline.

Unbelievable that it's taken this long to:
a) announce a rear guard and
b) design one

Paging Dr. Beer, paging Dr. Beer. If I am not out doing a ride outdoors, I will try to remember to get up that early to ride with you. Might depend on how the Astros game goes.

Anyone have experience replacing the bearing out of warranty?

Noticed a light clicking starting up today on a long ride. Had it replaced once under warranty and didn't seem like a big deal.

Any idea of cost or DIY possibility?

Question -

A group of friends wants to do a peloton challenge for January. I've been wracking my brain trying to think of a way to make it fair. We come from a wide range of abilities on the bike.

I tried to think of simple ones like number of classes or total miles road or total output for the month but there are some in the group where they have no chance of winning. We want to put $20 or something on the line for extra motivation.

Has anyone done something like this and what did you do? We all have the pelaton+ bike.

Maybe tie it to power zone classes? More points for longer classes, more points for the harder power zone classes, etc.?

That way it doesn't matter what your output is, everyone gets points for being in their zone 3, 4, etc.

You could do something like highest average strive score for the month. Since strive score is based on HR as a percent of Max HR, that would measure who was working the hardest for the month. But you would need to make sure everybody has a reasonably accurate max HR set. Or you could do a FTP improvement challenge. Everybody test FTP at the beginning of the month and again on Feb 1. Whoever has the highest percent increase wins? But that would reward people who sandbagged on the first test.

How do you determine what your zone is?

They have a 20 minute ftp test to determine your zones you could start the challenge with.

But agree with the above also around being tied to hr zones.

If you want it to be "fair", power zones or hr zones will be the best way to go.

Could also do hours. But not all hours are "equal".

The other idea is to do a "challenge" where you put together a list of rides or workouts for each week of the month. Everybody who completes the every workout on the list gets entered into a drawing to win the prize.

Along the PZ ideology, you could have a percentage gain in power to weight ratio.

Is Peloton still a thing around these parts?

Tweaked my lower back wrestling with my kids, so did a 30 minute low impact ride just to get boys flowing.

Do y'all PZ junkies use a heart rate monitor with PZ training? I just picked one up to start running again, and it seems like I should just have it on as an indicator of when my fitness level is changing for a certain output zone. Same output + consistently lower HR = time to retest.
AgLiving06

I track my HR on all my Peloton rides.

For PZ specifically, the zone is what matters, not the HR. It can be a good indicator though of how I'm feeling or what my shape is, but I don't base my ride on it.

I do go through time periods where I'm very focused on HR and will pick "fun" music classes and then just ride to maintain z2 HR.

Just did the houston half, capping a roughly 7 year period of running 3+ times a week, every week and getting a little burned out from running. Want to take a break.

Thinking of a mixture of peloton rides (2-3x a week) and workouts (body weight or lighter weight stuff, hiit, etc.). Doesn't seem peloton has combo programs like this, unless I'm missing it? Assuming not, I'm good with my pz rides, but does anyone have class recommendations for the workouts?

Is Peloton ever going to make it easier, more intuitive to search for classes? For example, trying to find a HIIT class to do over lunch so I pull up the app. It would be way to easy to search HIIT, so of course there is no search option. You have to first filter by cardio, which brings up another option to filter by class type, then filter by HIIT.

Just seems way more overcomplicated than it needs to be. Guess I've never noticed because I've always only done bike workouts, and only Matt Wilpers Power Zone classes at that.

Whew boy...just did this ride today:

PZ Max

15 seconds of rest made for a real tough time, especially during the 45 second intervals.

Can you find classes and just add to your list?
htxag09

What I did, but it's a moot point because now that I know where the classes are it's easy to navigate. Just hard to originally find where those classes are embedded.

Which also led me to find that the screen on the bike itself actually does have a search bar. So not sure why the phone app doesn't....

Anyone else getting glitches in the latest update?

On my last full ride, my leader board output was always about a minute behind my accrual output. Then in the cool down, it kept jumping man and forth between my current output and the total of my previous ride.

Then tonight, my warmup still had the elevated outputs from two days ago, despite the cool down ride in between?
AgLiving06
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yes. I was in the middle of a ride today and the screen went white before resetting.
