so I learned that you can do peloton treadmill runs on your phone and close the app without it shutting off.
Makes it so much easier to do runs outside and opens up a much larger catalogue than what is currently available.

I tried one a few days ago. No gear or equipment required (at least for the one I did). It was OK, but not sure I'll do one again. It didn't feel like much of a workout, but that could have just been the instructor or the specific class I did.CFTXAG10 said:
Has anyone tried the Peloton boxing classes? Do you need any gear or is it just air?

Just put a TV in front of your Peloton. I ride during 90 minute soccer games all the time

Please happen. Save this company.
Let me watch prime, YouTube, etc on my peloton
Allow me to peddle through 11 am games during college football season.
It's so frustrating that a feature that should essentially be free, is kept from their customers despite being one of the most expensive products out. Add in a set series of 'TV classes' that can overlay on any android streaming app. It's not difficult.

I'd argue that if you are looking to watch TV and spin your legs, the peloton isn't the platform for you. Just buy a cheap spin bike and a TV. Or get a trainer for the bike.
Peloton views itself as a content company, so letting people access other non-peloton content isn't in their interest. You don't have to like it.

They are definitely missing the boat trying to rely only on content. There will always be another spinning instructor people like better, and all it will take is for one of the other platforms to hire away a Wilpers or one of the other popular instructors. The biggest argument I see is people saying "my wife wants a peloton for the spinning classes, but I would rather compete on Zwift." If they could combine the ability to both on one platform, everybody would want one.htxag09 said:AggieOO said:

And that's where I'd argue peloton is missing the boat. I agree with what you said 100%. Thing is, they've basically covered that market. Sure they're still going to sell some as people upgrade from cheaper bikes, have kids so want a peloton to replace gym classes, etc. But they could easily add some of these features and increase their market segment without diluting their content, imo.

They are making their money on the subscription, not the bikes.

Are they, though?

I guarantee you the margins and net revenue are higher on a recurring subscription vs a single bike sale.

I'd love a Ride Builder too, would be cool if you could share rides you programmed with the peloton community and see who builds a following for their good programming.
If they built it with a community focus I could see that strengthening their grip on their subscribers. Would encourage people to get the Bike+ also, purely for the auto-resistance changes (I didn't think I'd care about that but man is it convenient).

I'd go nuts with a custom ride builder

Fellow Members,
There's been quite a bit of news about Peloton in recent weeks, and through it all, you have stood with us. Thank you for all your support and encouragement! This year marks Peloton's 10 year anniversary. My co-founders and I brought to life the concept of recreating the energy and benefits of a studio fitness class in the home to make getting healthy and staying healthy more achievable for more people. And together with you, we have built this incredible community from five people to 6.6 Million people, of all stages, ages, and backgrounds, leading healthier, happier lives. I remain inspired by you and your stories. Our north star has always been and will always be improving the lives of our Members. Your experience is what matters most and this is why we are making some changes to position Peloton for continued success the next 10 years and beyond.
Effective today, I will be moving into a new role as Executive Chair, and Barry McCarthy will be joining Peloton as CEO & President to lead the company. Barry is an incredible leader with a proven track record of working with founders to scale world-class businesses like Spotify and Netflix. In addition to the senior executive roles he has held at some of the world's most successful media and entertainment brands, Barry has served as an advisor and board member at public and private technology companies. This appointment is the culmination of a months-long succession plan that I've been working on with our Board of Directors, and we are thrilled to have found in Barry the perfect leader for the next chapter of Peloton.
I care deeply about Peloton our community, our team, and our ability to continue to motivate and inspire you through our world-class instructors and deep library of classes across fitness disciplines. And, because operating with a Members-first approach is one of our core values, I want to assure you that the changes that we're making at the company across our operations will not impact our instructor roster, number of classes produced, or range of class modalities.
I still believe as strongly in this brand and in connected fitness as I did on Day One. But in order for us to continue to deliver the best possible member experience and lead us into the future, I need to hand the day-to-day reins of running the business to a seasoned and gifted executive who has helped transform and grow some of the world's best streaming media companies first in video, then in music, now in connected fitness.
I'm so excited to partner with Barry and for you to see what he brings to this brand and community. Please join me in welcoming him to the Peloton team. And I hope to see you on the leaderboard soon!
John Foley

Wonder if this is a step forward towards selling/acquisition or a move in the opposite direction
