They back out 5% of your avg output on the FTP test. I do remember that part, I just didn't know you could update the FTP manually. Good to know! Now comes the hard part--training at the new zones. Oy vey haha

I know man. I gotta re-evaluate for game 2, maybe hold off on legs. Oddly enough the last two times I PR'd a ride it was either on leg day or the day after. I owe a lot of my recent success to my recovery routine.

You and Nitro are a good motivator to want to get better on the bike.

Man I've been chasing Nitro since day 1, haha. Back when I had the leaderboard on all the time, I'd be like "is this mf getting STRONGER at the end of this ride? Wtf?!" LOL always trying to chase him and others to make myself train better. Gotta have rabbits in front of you!

PR'd my hour session by about 2% on Matt's ride. Loved the workout he picked.

And I need to either retest pronto or just update my FTP a bit.

And you people are freaks doing that ride followed by AT's stuff

Nitro is a damn animal. I was fresher and he still paced me right up to the "4th quarter" of AT's ride. Just ridiculous lmao.

Also, damn you, Nitro, for telling me my FTP could be manually updated. Went up by like 15 points lol greeeeat (only kidding this is awesome thank you!)

that's good to know - I tried a few times to high five people, but never received any back. I had 14 people that I follow on the ride, so I know I should have received at least one.

Curious where these numbers stack up against you beasts... Jenn's live ride this morning. Had an arms section in it but only like 3 minutes probably. For reference, I'm 5'8" around 194.

Looks like you did work! I haven't tried any rides with an arms section. How long was the class?

I'm doing Ally Love's 20 minute Feel Good ride in an hour lol. Don't usually do a Sunday morning ride, but the wide if one of my Corps buddies is doing her century ride today so I signed up lol. Legs are still dead from yesterday (played bball for a couple hours last night) so I'm gonna take it easy.

Congrats on 150! My goal, as a 6'1" guy weighing in around 275, is to average around 200 watts on my non-PZ rides.

Ultimately though it doesn't matter what we do, it matters how much better you're getting from where you started!

I don't have an apple watch so I'm not familiar with how it integrates with the bike asking more for planning ahead purposes

if you have the Bike+ and an apple watch, does your apple watch serve as your heart rate monitor or do you still need to get a separate heart rate monitor?

You can use your Apple Watch as your hr monitor. However, in general chest and and even the arm straps are more accurate than optical wrist hr monitors

I've found the Scoshe wrist monitor to be about the same as far as accuracy compared to Apple Watch, so I wouldn't bother purchasing that one if you have the watch.

Seems pretty cool.

I would be interested to know exactly what professional athletes are on Peloton. I bet the results would be surprising.

In reference to my previous post and the email....apparently Usain Bolt trains on the bike as well. I would have to assume he is pretty damn good himself.

There's a PGA commercial that, or maybe Taylormade, that features several players training as well as playing. There's a cut of Rory on a POS Schwinn spin bike from Walmart. I was like, no way in hell Rory's home gym has that thing in it. Not surprised to learn he's on Peloton.

I can't imagine that pushing watts until you die helps you that much in golf, but long endurance efforts probably do. All of it probably helps with tennis.

Someone did a power/weight ratio of all the riders with the weights they found posted on the Internet, and the female winner actually did the best overall.

Do the click in shoes benefit the rider? And I am normally a 10 EE shoe size... do these come in widths from Peloton? Or should I look for a compatible 3rd party shoe?

The clip in shoes help, and I bet are much more efficient. I've never used them on anything but a Peloton but it doesn't take long to get used to.

There's no reason to think Peloton brand on anything. Even the Peloton salesman at the store told me "you can find the same stuff everywhere online for cheaper." I think the Peloton shoes are just Shimano shoes with a Peloton label. My wife and I only buy Peloton stuff when we get a referral bonus. Definitely don't get the Peloton heart rate monitor - everybody hates them.
