New Peleton software update- seems to not have the feature of being able to sort by ride type. Previously able to filter power zone rides, low impact rides, etc. now the only options are to search by instructor, time, and music.

I find that really annoying. That is how I used to easily find power zone rides.

Everyone else having the same issue? It seems to be new just as of today.

I did some exploring. When you go to Classes, it starts off with "Bike" selected at the top, where it looks like they updated the options to account for the new cycling bootcamp classes. If you select "Cycling" instead of "Bike," you get the option to filter by class type again. Hope that helps!

Man, tough ride this morning (wilpers 45min hip-hop PZ ride). Legs were smoked from Monday's workout + quick 6mi run last night. Great work Meg and NP!

This is what I love about PZ training. Everything, while challenging was very doable. However, that second 4 minute Z4 segment, I found to be particularly challenging. Without the power bar, and knowing the objective was to stay in that range, I likely would have dropped in output.

The good news and most rewarding aspect is 1) finishing the ride knowing you achieved something and 2) I was able to set a new PR this morning.

I find that my PR's come during power zone rides. PZE is not high enough intensity, and PZMax typically has too man Z1 efforts to PR.

Good job everyone.

PR'ing during PZ rides at all is something to be proud of.

During PZ rides, do you try to match your cadence with the song tempo or do you have some other strategy? It's difficult for me to not match the tempo but it seems like Wilpers is rarely on the beat.

Dennis is all about matching cadence on the song, but the others don't put at much emphasis on it it. For the most part, PZ only cares about output range, but I try to sync with the instructions best I can to get a variety.

I'm most comfortable mid 80s to low 90s which is probably pretty common. I've actually started liking some of the low cadence grinds on occasion, but I really can't put out power well at 95+. I'm thinking part of it may be a bike fit thing. Feels like I bounce around a lot

Rarely do I match the beat of the music. In fact, I am not very coordinated when it comes to that, so unless they say what it is, I wouldn't even know. The "strategy" for me is pretty simple. It is basically how I am feeling on a given day. However, as a general rule, I like to be at lower cadences for higher zones and higher cadences for lower zones. Typically my Z3-Z4 efforts will be around 80-90.

One other thing, is I am well aware that I struggle maintaining an output range at a low cadence. So, I will make a conscious effort to work in the zones at least a little during each ride.

Ok I am new to this thread, but I have about 250 PZ rides under my belt and 4 PZP challenges.

I prefer riding the beat of the music which is why Denis is my favorite PZ instructor. But if I am really honest, CVV is my real leader as I am most comfortable running 94-98 cadence. I can stretch my Z3 and Z4 outputs much longer. I am still comfortable in the high 60's but much below that I am struggle bussing hard.

It was a great ride - I hit a PR too with new zones, so I was pumped because I really didn't feel like riding this morning. Great job today everyone!

K BO to your question - I naturally ride with the beat, so Denis' rides are easier for me since he does the same. If I'm not on beat though, say if a song is in the 60's or 100's, I tend to ride in the 85-90 range most comfortably for those longer periods. So I end up switching back and forth - if the song is in the 75-95 range, I'll match the beat. If not, I just go to that 85 cadence range.

Got my bike a few months back. I've just been doing classes based on which instructors I like and music playlists. What exactly is this Power Zone stuff y'all are so hyped about? I went a couple pages back to find an explanation, but didn't see one.

During each Power Zone Ride, the instructor calls out which zone they would like the rider to achieve for a specific length of time at a specific cadence range. It is then the rider's responsibility to adjust their resistance at the desired cadence in order for their output to fall in their respective zone.

As each zone is based on the rider's performance on the FTP Test, this allows the coach to design workouts that are achievable for all riders. So, no matter if the rider is a complete beginner or one that just competed in the Tour de France, both will be working just as hard.

Lastly, each zone is designed to stress a specific component of a rider's fitness on the bike. So not only can the coach design workouts to achieve results for the rider, Power Zone Training allows coaches to design workouts to achieve very specific results for riders.

Basically it's for type A people like me who love numbers and metrics and need to know exactly what they're supposed to do ahead of time. Which is why I hate Denis's PZE rides.

Plus all the stuff above!

Bike began "clicking" about 2 weeks ago. Much louder and frequent last week. Called Peloton Monday. They asked me to send them a 15 second video. Service tech came out today and replaced the crank shaft.

That's service!

We did Denis's Metallica Power Yoga tonight ... oh boy! Final poses/cool down to Nothing Else Matters, by Apocalyptica, and Shavasana to One was awesome.

I'm going to do Kendall's Metallica ride Sat morning.

I'd rather not hate my life this weekend to recover from that ride so I will pass

Definitely went out too hot early and paid for it on the back end. Thankfully my toddler decided she wanted to investigate the bike, so I had an unscheduled break late in the ride.

Still PR'd for a 45 minute class, but I left a lot on the table.

You crushed it man. So much output! The next to last interval was super lame with no good beat to ride to for 5 minutes. It didn't help that I did a 45 minute PZE ride at like 4pm yesterday too.

The PZ program is really catching fire. I remember when I started really focusing on PZ training (~ 16 months) live classes (5 AM CT Thursdays / 11:45 AM CT) were 1500-2000 people. This morning 4500+ early on Saturday morning. Impressive.
