Dang! I was having intermittent internet issues, as well.

Great work Meg and NP!

I need to take an FTP test again. My current Zones are too low and I find myself easily settling in to the next zone up during PZ rides.

I did the 20 minute intro test this morning. That sucked big time. 129W FTP for me to start out. I'm doing the 4 week Discover Your Power Zones program, so I'm looking forward to seeing how I improve between now and the test at the end.

Its a great program, after I did it my FTP jumped 70%

Can't get in the ring anymore but I used to love boxing so I usually hop over to the workshop a couple of times a week and do various boxing workouts on the heavy bag. You don't need to go buy all the fancy equipment, just need a simple heavy bag, but Fight Camp has a really good app to lead you thru some boxing drills. As it relates to Peloton though, your second FTP test no matter who it is, is going to be far better than the first. I think part of why my first test was so much worse was that there is a method to how to take the test. I understand it now and while I am improving, it isn't nearly as big a jump as the second test comparted to the first.

Kind of the same experience for me, after the first time I took the test, I still had energy in the tank. Second time taking it I had nothing left after the ride

Everybody holds back a bit on the FTP test the first time, even if they don't know they are. I always suggest that people do some Power Zone rides or a few of the intro to power zones classes before they test the first time just so they have a better idea of what they can sustain for longer intervals. The only thing you should want to do after an FTP test is puke or take a nap. If somebody is able or interested in taking anything other than a cool down ride after their FTP test, they didn't go hard enough in the test.

Anyone doing Wilper's 60min PZ ride tomorrow at 7am CST? If I don't long run with some friends I'm planning on doing it. If not tomorrow's ride, I will likely do Kendall's 45min EDM ride Sun morning at 7 CST.

That was my first hour ride and first regular power zone ride. Good lord. Nice job setting some lofty goals for me!

Haha! Great work! I'd like to say they get easier, but I don't think I can. They definitely get more tolerable. My legs were toast this morning so today was extra challenging. Nonpoint - In the Air Tonight was awesome during the second interval.

For all you runners, do Becs Gentry's 60 min NYC Marathon Simulation Run that came out a week ago. Awesome run and recap of her race last year when she was the first female non-pro across the finish. Very motivating. I'm going to download this to my phone and play it during the last hour of my next marathon. So good. I took it once last week as a tempo run and again today as part of my long run and it flew by.

This has been on my "maybe" list. I generally only do the Peloton runs for my easy runs. I'll have to do it when I have 60mins in a couple of weeks.

Gotcha. In that case:

-if you are on the fence about whether you will use it enough to make it worth it, YOU WILL
-definitely buy clip in shoes as mentioned above
-know you are buying into much more than cycling classes. Yoga, stretching, boot camp, etc. are all great.
-the community vibe alone makes it well worth it
-I bought a nice gel pad for my seat to make it a little more comfortable on the longer rides
